'Future of gaming' hooooo, where you buy fake clothes for real money! This is what MS meant when it said it was redesigning GFWL?

All our money are belong to M$. D:

Thank Creepers that at least Steam has not gone all "casual" gaming like the promo video there.

Edit: For once i actually agree with the "Thumbs Down" on YouTube.

I don't even know what to say about that. I just hope a lot of devs can resist micorsoft's $$$ and not use gfwl.

The buying virtual things kinda just killed it for me. The whole thing looked more like a giant promo that said, "Gimme ALL YOUR MONEY!!!!!!"

Nah, the devs are smart enough to not use GFWL. Steam is MUCH better. Or even Gamespy. Or even an in-house MP system.

Heh, I think MS is genius. Considering how many females spend hours upon hours on social networking sites, GFWL combining that social network addiction with a few games? Genius. And of course the dudes will too, because what's better than a female on the internet right? :/

Copying Steam won't work, so I think MS deciding to go this route was very smart of them.

Of course I just hope that any future game that interests me doesn't use their system :D

Breaking News: Facebook just said Fuuu you GFWL and made their own system so they can rake in all the moniez themselves. xD

Both my sister & my mom are fanatics on the damn (random)Ville games, but i dont think they would ever shell out real cash to buy useless avatar items or similar.

So what? What's your point? Why did you think I was implying GFWL was using Facebook? That doesn't make any sense.

thats essentially what p2p or f2p(with item shops) games are right? your paying money to dress up your character either in monthly payments (WoW) or select installments (runes of magic).

so what are people QQing about? unless your making a thread on the failure of paying for online computer games (and im sure there are wayyy to many threads on that already)....

so i guess the question is how does this product make MS any different from any other online gaming platform? aka "in it for the money"

Oh good lord, what is this crap?!

The end is near!! This WGX might be a site where girls can hook up with the minimal amount of men who will play games on Windows Live.

    Kinda like an all-girls school.

Then I will be that minimal % of men  lol

Anyways, MS is just going deeper and deeper into their grave. First P2P of xbox live, now this? This is even worse than that!

Anyone else notice Halo 3 at the last part of the video? PC better brace for a wave of generic garbage games Micro$uck has milked to death on console as M$ bumbles through "reinvigorating" PC gaming. Give up Micro$uck, no one cares anymore, you have the button mashers waving their arms around like buffoons with Kinect, leave PC gaming to the pros like Valve.

IMHO, the best devs for PC are :

    - VALVe
    - DICE
    - 4A Games
    - Treyarch ( <---- That was sarcasm  )
    - Crytek ( not so good with Crysis 2, but a nice job with Crysis 1 )

I hope 4A Games was sarcasm also too. I wouldn't be surprised if the studio goes defunct.

I'd add Blizzard. SC2, Diablo 3, WoW, etc etc. Best selling games of all times over and over.

CDProject for The Witcher and Witcher 2 and both games are PC Exclusive.

Tripwire Interactive for best PC Mod community support and again, PC Exclusive games.

GSC Gameworld for Stalker series. Awesome PC games, even if I'm not a fan of them.

    ID Software
for continuing to be the most influential developers and game engine developers. If it wasn't for ID Software, Valve wouldn't exist. Neither would COD series engine etc. TF2 was also based on a Quake mod etc.

Except for best PC game developer is actually Blizzard.
    Best RTS — Blizzard
    Best MMORPG — Blizzard
Best Arcade RPG — prolly gonna be blizzard as well with Diablo 3.

They only need to do a 3d shooter and a sim to be all around best, but prolly they considered it to be not the best investment.

Wish i could add Ensemble Studios to that list but guess who murdered that one.
Age of Mythology 2 would be the Duke Nukem Forever of RTS games. xD

Is that what those are? I thought Micro$uck kidnapped Mii's and was holding them ransom till Nintendo gave Micro$uck a piece of the casual crowd.

On that I'm not sure if X-box's Avatars or Wii's Mii's came first. I don't follow that close the console scene.

I lol at Blizzard... they don't give a care in the world to their customers.. and just copy idea's from other devs and just reskin it to call it a finished product (wow) not to mention that sc2 is just a reskin of sc1 with some modified units

damn, when you put it that way...

Where? If you meant the bit with the 2-shot-kill FN2000s, that was BF2. Although I somewhat admire and am puzzled at M$osft's choice to feature BF2 over say one of their own abominations. Though if they had actually ever played the game, they'd in no way mean to imply that the FN2000 (or any assault rifle in that game, heck any weapon period) has the accuracy to take anything out in one shot, the first shot!

When the Mii... Sorry, XBox Avatar is cycling through the available games, the Halo 3 logo is pretty clear.
