anyone know if the nvidia geforce 8600 gt could run microsoft flight simulator x?

I play FS-X on a Go7600 in my laptop with out to many problems. I don't get great frame rate because I turn up the details. On my desktop (AMD64 3500+ Geforce 7800 GT) I can run at good frame rates with most of the details turned up.
-
what resolution is your laptop running at?
-
I run FS:X on my X1400, and i run it at 1280X800 and everything medium.

fsx is one of the few games that are just as much if not more cpu dependant as it is gpu dependant. keep that in mind. a dual core cpu and the new patch will serve you well.
-
FSX runs fine at medium on my VAIO (see sig)
-
I run it on my 8400GT, at 1280x800 with all settings medium-high, global texture resolution set to "ultra high", and AA on. It never drops below 30FPS and virtual ****pits look boootiful.
-
Fine. Virtual flightdecks look beautiful.

lol jjjjjj

. It's in production stage, I'm expecting will arrive first week of August. But I'm wondering if it indeed will run quite well on that Notebook

FSX runs fine on my computer with medium settings. Make sure you install Flight Simulator X Service Pack 1, it fixes many bugs and has noticeable performance improvements for FSX.
-
Hmm, I guess I'd need a 8600M GT to play it decently, although I've read that even a desktop 8800GTX/E6600 can't run it maxed out @ 1680x1050..

It will run fine, remember to install FSX Service Pack 1 (Patch) do it runs smoothly.
-
Here are some pictures of the demo.(Without the FSX patch)
-
Probably not much of a comparison, but my Inspiron 8600 has a Pentium M 1.4 (I think), 512MB RAM, and an ATI Radeon 9600 pro graphics card.
FSX would hardly run. Hell, it took forever just to load the damn game each time. My laptop runs FS2004 great.
I too am looking for a new laptop, and trying to figure out the minimum requirements to get FSX to run smoothly....
Man, is it ever hard to find a laptop that has everything you are looking for, for under like $1700.... -
On my 1720 (T7500, 2gb RAM, 8600gt) I have these settings with 1920x1200:
Graphics: Ultra High
Aircraft: Ultra High
Scenery: Ultra High
Weather: Medium Low (Haven´t tried it higher)
Traffic: Low (Haven´t tried it higher)
As smooth is butter, but make sure you have installed the Service Pack -
How are you liking the screen? Are you getting any of the probs others have complained about, cpu noise, grainy screen, etc.?
Thanks! -

I´m also not happy about the build quality of the panel above the keyboard (when i press on it it wobbles), but that´s just nitpicking.
I´m sorry, but i haven´t posted any pics of my 1720. I´m unable to find my camera -
Can someone please put up some pictures of FS 10.

Hey guys!
Im pretty new to this forum, and i would like to ask, would this setup run fsx?
2.2 dual core processor
3gb RAM
8600gt 256mb
250gb HD
Theyre the main factor that affect the performance of the game.
Thanks -
Yeah, you'd be able to run it quite well, go for it! The GPU will be your main limiting factor, but it should do just fine, as FSX likes a good CPU as well, which you've got.

damn you for bumping thou thread. i thought maybe the direct x 10 update was out.

Could anyone tell me if i put another GB of memory into my Acer Aspire 3680 will it run microsoft flight simulator x better? it loads ok but details of planes etc do take time to appear, i have been in the air and when i change to outside view the fusalage can take a while to appear! it has an Intel Celeron M processor, 1.6ghz. Only have 502 of Ram so thinking this could be the problem, Can anyone help please
-
Holy smoke you don't even have a dedicated graphic card for this game?!
yea definitely throw in another GB of RAM, not only this game but the overall performance of your computer will be improve as well. (huge boost imo)
I didn't even want to run this game on my macbook pro because it was lagging as hell. and now you just........(I am totally speechless)
you kinda reminded me when I first played flight sim 98 on my ancient old desktop, P-2 300Mhz, 48MB RAM, 4GB HDD, took at least 5 minutes to swtich views. -
will the toshiba x205 sli1 handle the graphics maxed out? I have Falcon 4 allied force and it handles it very well I mostly get upper 60s to high 90 frames per second and sometimes when a lot is happening on screen it drops to 25 to 30 fps, and I don't think it's utilizing sli. Will FSX utilize sli?
-
I'm considering getting FSX to play both on laptop and my quadcore desktop. anyone using a joystick with FSX? If so, which one?
-

The desktop runs a pair of 512MB Radeon HD3870XT in Crossfire mode. Will that suffice? MSFSX is almost 18 months old now. -

I still don't think you'll be able to max it out on DX10 and get above 30FPS.
But I'd like to be surprised.
microsoft flight simulator x
