Although he´s still performing admirably, my ASUS G1S isn´t ready for the next wave of incoming games, so I´m thinking about a new gaming laptop.

The thing is, when I´m at home, I game with it linked through HDMI to my 720p 32" LCD TV, so I have no use for higher resolutions.

My question is: what level of GPU should I aim for, getting in mind that I will be gaming at 720p at the best?

What is your budget? And any brand you'd like to go with, ie- Asus again?

I had a good experience with this G1S, would have no problem buying another ASUS, but I also had toshibas and hps in the past. About the budget, let´s put up a ceiling of 1,500 USD. But I was thinking more about GPU suggestions, than whole models.

^^^ I would highly recommend the GTX 260M btw.

That G51 is also a very good performer.

Anyone know of something similar to the G51 specs, but without the "gaming laptop" look and feel (i.e. <=6lbs)? WUXGA/1080, 260M, etc? Been hunting for a while without much luck.

I could probably step down the GPU req for what I'm playing (Aion, WoW, new-ish action/rpg titles), but I'd like to be in a position to handle upcoming titles as well.
