Any one ever see a sony z series go for 1k, here it is lol. There are a few things on backorder though so you have to up the price with stuff in stock and also this is only for Canada. That price is if you downgrade a few of the configurations.
This unit it special though because it has a 1600x900 resolution screen along with a discreet Nvidia 330m video card. It can get hot but it properly cooled can play every game out.

13.1" with 1920x1080? Really???
-
Yea the screen is nice here is an unboxing showing off the screen. The screen is particularly good cause of its Adobe Gamma from what Iv read. Anything under 3.0 is supposedly good, and anything over 3 isnt that great. When profesionals use lcd's the thing they look for the most is the gama from what I understand. The sony screens are like 1.7 or something the lowest out of any screens on any laptops. I think the HP envy radiance screen is like 3 or 2.2 or something in comparison. My facts could be construed differently to.

That screen is ridiculously awesome - my 17.3 inch is only 1600x900 and the 19 inch on one of my desktops is even worse - 1440x900

Vaio Z series is also in 13" format and is also available with a FullHD screen.

Gamma should be set at 2.2 (1.8 for some legacy Apple applications), higher and lower are both bad. Also, while a monitor's gamma is very important to picture quality, it is not relevant to the hardware quality of the display itself, as it has more to do with the settings and calibration than with the actual monitor.
1080p on a 13.1 screen is kinda ridiculous, that's 168 DPI!! You'd have to have be sitting less than 2 feet from the screen to be able to tell the difference between 900p and 1080p on a monitor that small, and your eyes would have to be within 8 inches of the screen to be able to fully visualize the 1080p (assuming 20/20 vision)!
Although a nice laptop for extreme mobile work, I don't think it's really gaming related. A 330m will have trouble keeping up with a 900p screen, it could never push 1080p at reasonable quality/framerates. Plus, as it's a quite small 13" laptop, the processor is likely undervolted / underclocked like most of Sony's offerings in order to keep heat down on such a small system. -
Here is what I was refuring too
