    Hey guys, i hear a lot of people saying that the tdp value ati gives us is not actually the whole card just the die itself. If this is true with the fact the 5850 mobility is 39W at stock how much power would it consume at full load? I want to know because i want to see how much I can OC this (laptop is stock msi gx640.)

    It's generally thought to be +15w for the gddr5 and PCB.

    It consumes far less on idle but OCing will noticeably increase the load power consumption, which is what you need to be concerned about since that will produce considerably more heat.
