This note comes form a site which shows a review of the desktop 7900gtx:
The core and memory had no difficulty running at their respective maximum speeds. With a third party program like RivaTuner, it's possible that MSI NX7900GTX-T2D512E videocard could go overclock higher if the conservative nVIDIA driver tester is disabled.
The article says you can overclock more if you disable the nVIDIA driver tester. Now i can overclock my NOTEBOOK gpu (7900gtx) max @549mhz core and 690mhz mem. If i push it higher the test fails and set the clocks back to my last configuration. My question: How can i disable this driver tester?
(PS: if i use coolbits do i still have the tester problem?)

Why? you can run the latest games at max settings at native res. you're already overclocked, so your graphics performance is probably amazing. why bother to oc more when you could blow up your chip doing so?

DON'T ,Overclocking voids the warranty (any damage done do it voids the warranty) and also can damage the GPU , Cooling on notebook is not the same as a desktop,Many overclockers actually replace the fan with more powerful ones or even use cooling methods like Watercooling (also known as liquid cooling)
SO forget overclocking and just be happy for having a very cool notebook.
I don't think your warranty has been voided but quit these dangerous things on your Notebook. -
I don't think i can offer any advice on how to overclock more.
but in defense, some people get a kick out of overclocking, it's just their cup of tea. personally, i like to see how far i can push my computers, including this laptop which overclocks to a cool 40% more for both core and memory, but it's an x300 so.... good luck with the 7900 and be safe. -
Most overclockers do overclock the core at least to 600 and some to 625 or 650. My gpu sets the clock back when i go over 549mhz core speed.

Other then for bragging rights why OC such a powerful stock chip? If your playing the latest games at max res and settings perfectly why void your warranty by OCing the card and recieving little in game performance if at all.
more overclocking
