Are you sure that's what the light means? Orange light usually means battery charging.

You cannot turn the Geforce graphicscard off, All the external ports are connected via the 765M, if you would turn it off then you would have no screen. That's also the reason why MSI notebooks with optimus are VR ready.

i had that laptop for 3 years now and it was fine the 765m in use only while gaming (orange power light) and it is blue when no games are on but now it is always orange just after i turn on the laptop this consumes power and make the device hot over time
all this happened after connecting hdmi to an external screen don't know why

If all the ports are routed through the dGPU then unplugging the HDMI cable will solve the issue

You're totally igorning me. Because I answered your question in my first post.

You can deactivcate the GTX 765M in your device manager, that way all external outputs should not give a screen and the card should not be working.

I think I found the problem.

Recently windows 10 Fall creators caused a lot of issues with optimus. Intel fixed this issue thanks to me and other people crying enough about it. They finally released drivers last month to adress this very issue.

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...phics-Driver-for-Windows-15-40-?product=81496

Download this driver, install it, restart your notebook, DO NOT PUT ANY HDMI CABLES IN YOUR NOTEBOOK JUST YET, then tell us if it has been fixed.
