Ok, so I dl'd kombustor and afterburner on my m17 r4 with a 7970m. I ran kombustor P benchmark and it ran fine and got a score of 5954 and all was good. Then I used afterburner to OC my 7970m to 945/1450 and ran kombustor again and it crashed and I got a msg saying driver display stopped and has recovered. So I ran it a couple more times and it stopped at 61% or 31% so I reset my clocks back to factory and kombustor still crashed. I ran wow for a little bit trying to see if that would crash it but it was fine. I disnt get to test it much more cuz it got late. I'm using 12.6 official drivers. Any reason this would happen even after I reset the clocks. Or does kombustor just not like me?

So WoW ran fine for a while at the same clocks that Kombustor crashed on? Crash on 945 tells me you need more voltage.

The Kombustor issue.....well AB for me behaved weird. It would set clocks to stock 3D some times and sometimes it would set them to 2D despite me playing games. So it might be a MSI thing with the 7970m. It is new so support might be a bit shaky until people have problems and MSI starts to work on it.

Thx mav. I have the same comp u do with the exept I have 8 gigs RAM. But i didn't run wow at the overclock. I ran it at stock after I had those issues with kombustor. But kombustor was still crashing at stock settings after the initial crashes at OC lvl. I do soo hour its just a msi problem since like u said the 7970m is still new. So it went like this. Kombustor ran perfect the first time ever at stock clock, then I ocd it and kombustor crashed 3 times, reset to stock clocks and it crashed 2 more times then left it at stock and played wow for a bit with no crashes. All on 12.6 official driver.

esca you should get the 12.7 official beta drivers becuase they support the 7970m and are much more stable for many people

I tryed to get the 12.7 but I dl'd them from two different locations and both times after I extracted them, there was no data. All the folders were there but nothing there, like it just carbon copied the zip file names and that was it, so I said the heck with it and just got the 12.6 from and website. And I played wow for about 10 minutes or so trying to be around as many ppl doing as many effects as possible. Like I said. It was getting real late and I just used that as a let's just see real quick thing.

Will it install over 12.6 or do I have to run driver sweeter since its straight off the website now? And of course its on the dam website right after I put 12.6 on my comp.
