Ok well yesterday i installed bf2 onto my sisters computer and played for a little. then i uninstalled it. I just wanted to test it out. we did an avira virus scan on her computer today and it detected a virus on her computer. Im afraid if I put the bf2 disk into my new comp im getting for christmas It will get a virus. What should i do?

If BF2 discs were shipping with viruses you'd have heard about it a long time ago, it's a pretty old game.
It's a coincidence, the virus came from somewhere else. I say this with confidence.
If you don't believe me, put the disc in a computer, DON'T let it autorun, then scan the disc with Avira.

If it's the genuine install disc, then it's guaranteed there is no virus on the disc.

only way it has a virus is if its a dodgy one and your using a crack as these show up as viruses. they will also melt your computer from the inside out but only if you are using a crack code :)

no what im saying is that my sisters comp had a virus in it already then i put the disk in. I know the bf2 disks dont have viruses on them but is it possible the the virus on my sisters computer infected my bf2 disk?

The CD will be read only so no virus would be able to write to it.

No, a disc (that is already burned and finalized) is not going to catch a virus.

You know what, I don't blame you. I read the topic and exclaimed "I cannot believe how people can be this dumb."
Sorry to be mean, but even my mom would know this. And she does not know the difference between minimizing and closing a program.

I'm sorry though, everyone has to learn. Please don't take offense from my above post (it's been seen, no point in deleting it). Many years ago when I first heard of linux I had this conversation
Me: so it's basically free windows, right?
    Them: well... kinda
Me: Cool, I'll run that on my server!
Them: Do you have linux apps for it?
Me: Can't I just use the Windows ones?
So even I have said some very "dumb" things, but it's not really dumb, it's just that you haven't yet been educated.

well I do know the difference between minimize and close and its hard to believe your mom doesn't.

Nobody ever told me this before and some of the teachers at my school are are retards so this is the only thing I could base what I thought off of

"a kid brought a computer game to school on a disk and it infected all the computers"

I know what linux is :D

No, she really does not know. She will ask for help, I'll minimize her windows, and she will go "OH MY GOD, WHERE'D MY EMAIL GO, WHY DID YOU CLOSE IT?"
"...Mom, it's right here... it's not gone, don't worry"
"Well I don't see why you closed it..."

The CD that kid brought in has the virus burned on it when everything else was written. You can do a proof of concept by trying to drag files to that CD in Windows Explorer.
