At the time I bought my xps m170(7800gtx), I used to get 7k points on 3dmark05

but... after several format and partition works, for no reason, my xps is getting

early 5k points... I tried to install newest xg forceware driver following directions, but the score turned out to be lower than before(late 3k points)..

trying to find other reasons but I coudn't think of any idea :(

    please give me some advises

How many partitions have you got? That might be a problem if you've got too many.

Partitions would only slightly impact hard drive performance, not the performance of a graphics card...

Installed chipset drivers? Or maybe time to update your VGA drivers?

Perhaps your PowerMizer power settings are set to optimize battery life. Make sure they are set to maximum performance when plugged in.

I just erased all the partitions and installed to basic setup with dell official drivers. right after all setup and windows updates done, I ran 3dmark03 and got 5310... :( how come this happen?
it was long time ago though, I sent my laptop to the dell techinical service because of my lcd problem, but they changed my graphic card not an lcd.. so, I am a bit suspicious if that affacts on my computer performance.

I have 2 questions at this point

    1. does 6800 ultra can get this score?

    2. does newest version of 3dmark05 affact lowering of the score?

Well if dxdiag/device manager are telling you you have a 7800GTX then it couldn't possibly be a 6800 Ultra ... could it???

Otherwise it may be you're not plugged in...

use atiltools to check your clock, or rivatuner, and make sure that the system isn't underclocking your card.
