My 8600m GT DDR3 is idle 75 degrees, and whilst gaming it reaches 95-96  degrees. Is this too hot?

There is no difference if i overclock it or not.

My vent is clear of dust and nothing is blocking it.

Still got my warranty, so if this is faulty i can sent it back.

Thanks in advance for your reply!

too hot. my 8600 idles at about 58-62 and when gaming reaches 75 max.

If all vents are clear and there is no dust, you may need to get a new gpu/mobo. That said, make sure ur HD or cpu is not overheating and causing problems for ur gpu.

    it might be faulty.

do some more stress tests to see if the temps will jump past 95C again.

make sure the ambient/environment temp is room temp or cooler.... having the heater on next to your notebook can cause the overheat as well.

    Yes, that's too hot.

I find that hard to believe.

Try sending it back then, but make sure you revert back to stock speeds and erase evidence of your overclocking, because some manufacturers may claim that the "damage" is your fault and won't replace it. However, if the temps truly are the same and stock and overclocked speeds, then you should try to get a replacement.
