    laptop:
    Core Duo 1.66GHz
    1GB DDR2 533MHZ RAM
    Go7300 256MB (64 dedicated, 192MB turbocache)

    desktop
    Pentium D 2.8GHz
    512MB DDR2 533MHz RAM
    Radeon x600 256MB (all hypermemory)

Which one will be better for gaming?

Am i right to assume the x600 is better than the go7300?

Do you have the Pentium D805? I have heard that you can overclock that thing like crazy ;)

Answer to your question: The Core Duo with its 1 GB DDR2 will be without doubt faster in multi-tasking and CPU-dependant work. But the desktop is faster in games.

Your laptop is better for gaming because it has more RAM. As far as video performace goes, the X600 is stronger than the Go7300, so if the desktop had more RAM, then it'd be better.

Yea, your laptop. The desktop only has 512MB ram and according to your post, 256MB of it is being eaten away by Hypermemory. You cant play newer games well on 512mb of ram, especially with hypermemory on.

Is there any way to reduce it? Would that be a BIOS setting or driver control planel setting?

I'm not exactly sure. I've never dealth with Hypermemory before. If I had to guess I'd say its somewhere in your Graphics control.
