so i got a laptop with the ati radeon x1250, and to me its a pretty good card, i know it isn't amazing but i don't play too many high demanding games (though i tried crysis to see if i could run it and well i could yay) so my problem is since i installed the latest catalyst drivers (which converted my gfx card to and ati x1200 /shrugs) everytime i go to play a game i get a crossfirex warning: Extended desktop may not be set using this display. It is reserved for CrossFire and physics support only. also i don't know if anyone is familiar with lotro, but the x1250 is dx10 so why won't the game let me click to use dx10 graphics?

may be an issue with latest drivers?
roll-back for now. -
yeah ATI arnt really known for thinking about the models they put there drivers in so a roll back should do it for now if theres a problem with that use the disk with the drivers on you SHOULD have got with the PC gl

In regards to LOTRO, might it be because the Radeon X1250 isn't a DX10 card?
No Radeons before the HD 2xxx series are DX10, and that includes the X1250. -
Yeah, not sure where OP got that from, the Acer sitting down in my basement has a x1270/50 and it can't play Crysis with a reasonable frame rate or run Dx10 stuff...
Even though I dislike them, Notebookcheck confirms about DX9 max

Yes, that just means that you have DirectX 10 installed, not that you're capable of using it.
Trust us on this one, the Radeon X1250 is not a DX10 card.
If it did, it'd have unified shaders. -
Wow, OP, I have exactly the same problem:
I've been playing CS 1.6 with a PC pretty much identical to OP, and I tried getting the latest drivers for my Xpress 1250 (from driverscollection.com which seemed kind of sketchy since the ATI website didn't have them). I somehow ended up with the drivers for 1200. Now suddenly my counter strike always gets interrupted with this popup message saying
CrossFireX WARNING
Extended desktop may not be set using this display. It is reserved for CrossFireX and physics support only.
my x1250 and crossfirex and lotro
