Seems like it's mainly for 1660Ti release because I get no performance uplift in Anthem from 418.91.

*Edit*
Looks like I need GeForce Experience (ugh). I’ll test it out and report back.
What exactly is the issue?

It doesn't show up for me, even after reboot. I do have a 2080 Max-Q (and previously a 1070 Max-Q) so maybe it's locked out for some GPUs?

This driver adds security updates for driver components.
Driver Security - Restricting Access to GPU Performance Counters
The NVIDIA graphics driver contains a vulnerability (CVE-2018-6260) that may allow
access to application data processed on the GPU through a side channel exposed by the
GPU performance counters. GPU performance counters are needed by developers in
order to use NVIDIA developer tools such as CUPTI, Nsight Graphics, and Nsight
Compute. In order to address CVE-2018-6260 the driver needs to be updated and
additional steps listed below are needed to disable access to non-admin users. For more
information about CVE-2018-6260 visit the NVIDIA Security Bulletin 4772.
Access to GPU performance counters should be disabled for non-admin users who do
not need to use NVIDIA developer tools.
Fixed Issues in this Release

Did a few test with this driver on my new Clevo P775TM.
When I first installed it caused a bug in Fire Strike and when the test got to the cpu test it disabled the 8700K's Turbo boost and only utilized 3700 Mhz core clock.
I reinstalled the driver and after several runs now it seems to run as expected at the 4500 Mhz which I have set.
Graphics score did not increase, still getting around 25800 points with my RTX 2080.
Well as for gaming...
Rise of the Tomb Raider is "acceptable". By this I mean that when playing with kb+mouse I can see a very small minor microstuttering (I can see the same on my desktop), however when playing with X-Box controller it is smooth.
However, Crysis 3 and Ryse are another story...Crysis 3 running at 130-144 fps outside in the jungle, however I can see some minor hitching. But this is still playable, unlike Ryse: Son of Rome. I have a save at the beginning of the game where the barbarians attack the city (sorry, played a long time ago and I forgot the name of the level) and it is unplayable, it is a stuttering mess.
Seems to me the CryEngine games have been buggy since Pascal cards and Turing cards did not fix this...Ryse was smooth on my previous dekstop with GTX 980 but have been unplayable on GTX 1080 and RTX 2080 desktops cards and laptop cards. A shame.
This is the cancer of PC gaming. On consoles if you buy a game it will run the same years later, however on PC you might end up getting worse performance with newer drivers.0lok likes this. -

Is there any difference between laptop and desktop drivers? Do laptop drivers have extra tuning for laptop screens and G-Sync or both drivers are the same for Pascal cards to the last bit ?
This driver has an interesting bug with Fire Strike on my laptop...when I run Fire Strike sometimes the CPU score gets low because the 8700k's turbo boost gets disabled and instead of the set 4.5 Ghz it will run at 3.7 Ghz and thus only give around 16k physics score. No such issue with previous VGA driver.
Interesting because I have no idea how can a VGA driver disable cpu turbo boost ...Last edited: Feb 22, 2019 -
@j95 I have installed your modded driver ( 419.17-DESKTOP-WIN10-64BIT-DCH-WHQL-MOD.EXE) on my Clevo with RTX 2080 and games (Rise of the TOmb Raider, Crysis 3) have the same black screen flashing bug during loading screens which the very first unofficial/leaked G-Sync driver had years ago when laptop G-Sync was being developed.
Is this a known bug or is it normal or there is a problem with G-Sync ?
No such issue with the official NVidia driver.
Really too bad for this black screen flashing bug...games feels smoother with G-Sync compared to the official driversLast edited: Feb 22, 2019j95 likes this. -

Just had a crash during a Fire Strike test.
The laptop rebooted so I did not see the error code.
Checking even viewer I see that there was no dump made because of an error.
I suspect the fault was because of the VGA because there are a dozen of errors with this message:
"The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer."
This was with the @j95 modded 419.17.
Too bad, regarding smoothness during gameplay this was the best.
modded 419.17 > official 418.91 > official 419.17
Rolling back to official 418.91 driver for now.Last edited: Feb 24, 2019j95 likes this. -

As always...
XtremeG released it with modded drivers [Performance + Tweaks] as always

For Desktops:-

Sooner or later I will release XG drivers [Lite & Debloated + Physx] today or tomorrow and will only be posted here...
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/modded-nvidia-drivers-for-windows.826322/
Enjoy
Ok here is what they do on every driverI got the list from there dead website http://tweakforce.com by using http://web.archive.org/
XG drivers are tweaked to improve image quality and stability while performance may increase or decrease slightly depending on your system specs. A few XG registry tweaks include mods to the following:
Paletted Textures In Video Memory
Render Quality Flags
Target Flush Count
Texture Clamp Behavior
Texture LOD Bias
Use Cached PCI Mappings
Texture Memory Space
Downloaded Memory Space
Texture Precache
UMA Fast Frame Buffering
Main 3D rendering
Triple Buffering
Here's what I observed comparing between official ones vs XG...
-Less microstutters
-Higher OC Potential (Gives me additional 50 ~ 90 MHz more OC) with the same overvolt (I use +75mv) going higher voltage gives me black screen
-Higher FPS [Not significant-(YMMV)] (due to less stuttering I guess you feel that you are playing at higher frame rate)
-Less latency per a frame (Means smoothie gameplay) -
-
But yeah, I am expecting a crash anytime
Nvidia "game ready" optimized drivers
I am wondering how many driver releases will they need to get the laptop RTX fully working without major issues... -

Not sure this is the right place to ask but I'll give it a shot. Last night I installed this version on a new laptop (which came preinstalled with previous nvidia DCH drivers).
I could only install DCH version of this driver. Other one failed at compatibility check.
Can someone please explain to me in short what's the thing with these DCH drivers and how/why I cannot install the regular one? -
