Downloading as we speak, going to be lazy just to see how bad it gets yep going to install over the top.
If it goes bust will DDU it. Done to much tech support this month so CBA also like to watch the world burn or GPU in this case.

Last time I tried a clean/DDU install, I ended up needing to do a factory reset of my entire laptop. Did an over-the-top one instead, and it's been working perfectly.

Never once had an issue with DDU, only microsh1t has been able to break my is forcing a clean install.

I have been locked out due to a Microsoft account but managed to fix that with ease.

Nope. I am staying on old non-DCH drivers. I have no reason whatsoever to even pause a moment to consider the option of an update. I rarely ever game anymore, and I don't know of any game compelling enough to care about playing to allow the loser dev control freak to dictate that I have to use a driver version that I do not want. In my view, all they are doing is giving me a really good reason to not purchase their game trash.

I would imagine you will be like me flat out with request of tech help from family and friends, like all tech guys/girls normally get.

But ya thanks to microsh1t everything is DCH or nothing which sucks.

Yup, they're so full of it their eyes are brown. It's really hard to take them seriously or show even a little bit of respect to them. Unlike a fine wine that improves over time, they are like a rotting vegetable in the back corner of the bottom drawer of the refrigerator that hasn't been identified yet.

I don't blame Mr.Fox to be honest most games are now just purchased Alpha-Testing games where its released as a full game but is buggy/broken and MTX ridden.

I pretty much only play roguelikes these days, if I only saw the gaming industry as what the AAA devs released I'd be massively depressed.

The lower-end scene is thriving with creativity.

More than anything I don't have an abundance of discretionary free time, but there is also a lot less to my liking in terms of available options. (Seems to be a common problem in many areas of tech.) My interest in gaming is mostly limited to linear run-and-gun first-person shooters and the occasional linear third-person shooter. I have zero interest in other genres like puzzle, adventure, simulation, arcade, RPG, strategy, sports, racing, etc. I do not care for most of the indie options. I'm not into the online multiplayer or open-world stuff and some of the FPS franchised titles that I would typically consider (i.e. Battlefield and CoD) based on my past enjoyment of earlier releases have been ruined by the absence of an offline single player campaign. When I do have some discretionary free time to use for personal entertainment, I usually spend it tweaking performance and running benchmarks in hope of smashing my prior best scores.

So far it hasn't changed a whole lot for me on my main system, so no shenanigans (glad the last driver's 165hz 1440p panel woes are over) so far; but then again, I jumped to a debloated Win11 and used NVCleanstall; things seem to be fine, outside of Nvidia Broadcast's webcam function being dumb outside of OBS' virtual camera. Fun times indeed.
