These seem to be OK, no issues like 493.13 with COD as of yet.

Also required for Doom Eternal 666 Horde mode update. Frikkin huge over 800mb

 

So far running sweet on my system, just doing new OC settings and benchmark runs so far new personal bests are happening on some benchmarks already.

As a side note I have noticed my GPU power draw is not running away near 200w with these drivers and slamming down unlike the 493.13 or earlier drivers.

Edit: SO out of bench runs of 472.12 and 496.46 the only uplift was in firestrike go figure. Updated my benchmark links with the Personal Bests.

 

I do not understand why these games need all the latest drivers always. I remember when I was playing BF1 campaign, I was running on a very old driver with INF mod the game (the one in my sig to be specific) was like no game for you until you update your driver. I deleted a .dll file which removed the NVCP completely and I was able to play the game without any stuttering, FPS drops or anything. (I'm running a newer driver now though, 460.89 which works on DOOM Eternal update v6.4 on Win8.1 no issues)

Also DOOM Eternal Horde update v6.66 mode doesn't even add anything new, maybe a new DLSS perhaps, still it's just a dll. Since it doesn't even use DX12 it runs on Vulkan too still this constant forcing of people with these kinds of software blocks is really annoying software lock garbage that we have to deal with. No other software demands this kind of rubbish that for a new software you need this X driver. Plus DOOM Eternal has Win7 and 8.1 support too and it works. But with this new driver being available only for Win10 DCH so the game support doesn't matter anymore ? Forced to eat M$ scam ?

What a despicable state PC has become tbh on one side we have the annoying Win11 fake TPM fear mongering while running fine on a damn Pentium 4 processor while other hand we have this nonsensical BS of forced to upgrade the entire OS to a spybox.

EDIT - Looks like the Driver cap is not there, as in the game will work on older drivers too I think they are keeping the min spec work properly. Wrong call on that. Sorry.

 

I have gigabit internet so downloads are not an issue for me but people on limited bandwidth and data caps really suffer. Especially if you have super slow downloads speeds

 

Brother Ashtrix. Nvidia play God with their drivers. You never know what you'll get. Isn't it pretty @Mr. Fox ? Or better say disgusting. You bought your graphics cards without the mining cap (You paid for it... It's your property). And yet nvidia want to kill what you paid for. Newer doesn't normally mean better. Screw you Nvidia.

Nvidia put back the control panel in their drivers. Of course the driver package increased.

 

DAMN. This trash company I paid for ? Feels real bad. I don't even mine and not plan to because I want my HW to last long. But I was not going to buy a gimped card LHR but now they play anything because people making money from the GPUs it's not good only CMP HX BS cards from old gen rejected silicon and dumpster class PCB with Ngreedia Mining tax are only allowed I guess. Well bro Papu, it's getting sad everyday with this sort of trash we PC DIY Owners have to keep up.

Really unfortunate. I hope people stand up against it but low hopes since we saw what BGA trash was and yet people buy like sheep. We have people who cry "Omg TDP is bad on my unlocked CPU lets castrate the processor to PL1 and run it and my gaming is fine". And MaxQ disaster we saw during Pascal era, Turing got junk mobile chips. Ampere is basically Turing desktop class in top SKU which is priced to moon and will die due to thermal throttling.

As for this nasty crap driver thing, I will anyways do not bother installing Windows 10. Ampere 30 cards before Oct all run Windows 7 drivers without issues and games are anyways lost cause. I will stick to the good old 472.12 the good old last Win32 driver we have.

I hope AMD crushes this Ngreedia scum with RDNA3 MCM to oblivion.

 

There's definitely a bug playing video where the desktop gamma will darken, doesn't happen often but I've seen it twice now. I'd steer clear of this one until they fix it.

 

Personally dont need to install the latest drivers, You're not missing anything especially with a 980m. Whatever driver that works well with your system stick with it no matter what.
