Thanks for continuing to post updates about new drivers and for all of those who volunteer to see whether the drivers will actually work well. I eagerly await to see if I will ever be able to update from 373.06.

Oddly enough, I ran my GPU up to 1.4 GHz on the core, 2.7 GHz on the memory and a 1.2 Vcore... This is one of my best scores yet:

Now with a + 200 MHz CPU overclock:

I'd rather not, the last new NVIDIA driver I tried damn near bricked my GTX 1070. I wrote about my experience in the last NVIDIA driver thread. :p

These threads are going to get smaller and smaller as more and more people get screwed over by the latest NVIDIA trash drivers and nobody will be willing to be guinea pigs, but I am glad you post these threads so people can be warned when NVIDIA creates new drivers.

Stupid question, bit why is that modded one better than the factory default one?

I compared the files with the stock 373.06 and the only difference for the Alienware non-Optimus "optimized" file is that IR 3D Driver prestage option is replaced with a HD Audio Driver entry.

So, I'd suppose you can safely skip this.

Check using CCleaner, services.msc may not be showing all of the services.

If you delete all the folders with fishy names like NV telemetery and container ... etc. from the driver installation folder, you will not get any of these poisons. That's why people using @j95 drivers don't have them, because they almost install bare drivers and delete everything else.

Oh, I see... I think I'll just stick with 373.06 for even longer now, last time I used a newer driver it almost bricked my 1070, this telemetry BS makes me want to stick with my current driver even longer.

I didn't delete anything, never had those malware like services

I just did a clean install by removing the old driver via DDU first like I always do, then I selected CUSTOM while installing the new driver, I checked the CLEAN INSTALL button, and I unchecked the 3D Vision Driver since I don't have a 3D screen
