Does the j95 driver work with Asus laptops or Asus Pascal VGA is not supported ?

Okay. Had a nap, tested again. According to device manager, it isn't installing like you want. You can see device deleted (DDU/safe mode) in the shot a few minutes before I installed:
I triple-checked I was copying from the correct folder even.
Edit: come to think of it... the first time (when 0002 and 0003 were present) I non-DDU, non-clean installed over the pure desktop driver 378.92, which didn't have 0001 in the registry for it. I wonder if that's why it defaulted to 0002 and 0003?
Either way, *shrugs*Last edited: Feb 17, 2018Vasudev likes this. -
There's nothing wrong with the driver, once again you're installing stock nvcvi.inf.
Backup your game profiles -> Programs & Features -> uninstall nV graphics driver -> reboot into safe mode -> run DDU.

Man... I don't even know anymore. Would you believe me if I told you I was copying the stuff into the wrong place every time, despite looking at the instructions AND my previous drivers?
Let's call me an idiot for today. I'm sorry I made you have to repack things twice. I legitimately was checking to make sure everything was right and it was just in the wrong spot in the driver folders >_<saturnotaku, Papusan, KY_BULLET and 1 other person like this. -
You pretty much prevent this by deleting all unnecessary folders....
Which model?...iGPU disabled? -
Oh I did... I simply copied it into the root folder not the "Display.driver" folder.

No hybrid power unlike MSI & AW laptops? Other non-optimus ASUS models (current ones)?

I hope this is what you asked for
As for hybrid power if I remember correctly when running from battery the VGA drops to GTX 1050 Ti performance and starts to decrease from there as the battery depletes...Last edited: Feb 20, 2018j95 likes this. -
I meant *NOS*, hybrid power/BIOS (AW) drawing additional power from the battery...a terrible idea.
1) Programs & Features -> uninstall nV graphics driver -> reboot into safe mode -> run DDU.
2) Disable driver signing
3) Download GeForce 390.77 Win10
4) Extract driver package (7-Zip) >> then delete the folders as shown below (don't skip this step) <<
5) Extracted driver package -> Display.Driver folder -> copy/overwrite both nv_dispi.inf & nvami.inf -> run setup.exe -> custom -> clean install option -> "Installation Successful” -> reboot.

Thank you for making Asus drivers !
Will uninstall Nvidia made 390.77 and try out 390.77 with your modded inf tomorrow

You have a way I can do all this without rebooting with DSE disabled? I tried bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on and it didn't actually help.Vasudev likes this.

What's up @j95
I followed your tutorial when I installed my dell 780m into my m17x r3 120hz, I'm running win8.1, and having hella trouble downloading the latest driver. Nvidia installer keeps telling me "Can't find graphics hardware"... I've disabled driver signing everytime and rebooted before copying over the modded inf and can't figure out the issue.
So when I installed the card, I went thru like 3 different drivers and finally an out dated one took! I was happy to have a working 780m in my system. I'm sorta afraid to run ddu lol but is that what I should do?j95 likes this. -
It installed perfectly, thank you!
However a question:
I left the HDAudio folder, however it did not install HDAudio drivers, is this intentional or I screwed up something?

Almost forgot, can someone tell me please which was the last Geforce Experience software which did not have bloatware/telemetry built in?
I am using Shield Controller for some games and games do not detect it without GFE. -
Then try right clicking that inf file and hit install. Some models use NvvAD folder that install nvidia virtual audio driver.
Connect HDMI cable and see if the audio works on either HD.Audio or NVVaD. -
Secure boot disabled. Elevated command prompt:
-> reboot.Code:bcdedit /set testsigning on
Exit test mode
I prefer "F8 "method (no watermark). Safe mode, DSE, etc.Code:bcdedit /set testsigning off
Code:bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacyDownload latest nV drivers.
Extracted driver package -> Display.Driver folder -> open nvdmi.inf with notepad.
Ctrl+H -> Find what: 05AE -> Replace with: 0490
Check "Match case"
Hit "Replace all"
Save changes then run setup.exe (driver signing disabled)
Yep, ASUS requires additional entries.
Try ASUS_2.zip below.Attached Files:

This one worked, hdaudio got installed with this new one! Thank you !

Here is how I have been doing it since W8.X days. I can install unsigned drivers on the fly. No rebooting, one and done, no fuss, no muss.
Save as DisableDSE.bat, right-click and run as Admin. (Pause keeps the CLI open so you can see confirmation the changes were successful instead of it snapping shut abruptly.) Reboot once for the changes to take effect, and from then on you can install modded drivers whenever you feel like it.
No nasty watermarks here using the excellent tool from PainteRCode:bcdedit -set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON bcdedit -set nointegritychecks on pause

Universal Watermark Disabler is a freeware app which can remove all kinds of watermarks in Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 8. It works in any build starting from Windows 8 build 7850 (early beta) to the latest Windows 10 versions, including future builds.
- Supports all builds from Windows 8 to Windows 10.
- Supports any UI language.
- Does not delete branding strings (i.e. does not modify system files!).
- Removes any watermarks including BootSecure, Test Mode, Build string in evaluation and pre-release builds, "Confidential" warning text and even the build hash.Last edited: Feb 21, 2018 -

IDK if this was 390.77 specific issue, but on my laptop I experienced a strange issue when any 3d app would lag as hell in fullscreen mode.
