• [SLI][Steam]: Steam must be closed to enable or disable SLI mode. [2091966]
• [Surround][Digital Vibrance]: Digital Vibrance setting is not persistent, and reverts to the default setting when rebooting with Surround mode enabled. [2097240]
• [Wolfenstein II]: The game may freeze in the Roosevelt area. [2114563]
• [NVIDIA Control Panel]: When Windows HDR is enabled, some color formats are missing from the NVIDIA Control Panel->Display->Change Resolution page. [2117226]
• [Pascal GPU + Kepler GPU]: After installing the driver and rebooting the system, the drive may fail to load. [200394820]
• [Far Cry 5]: Green flickering occurs in the game when using HDR with non-native resolution. [200399992]

Not touching this with a 50 foot snowman.
The hotfix driver wouldn't even GPU recover after a crash. it would just lock up the entire MSIbook. When previous drivers would recover properly (e.g. run GTX 1070 with 230W TDP at too high of an offset in PUBG=crash randomly. No lockup. But last hotfix driver=instant hard lock during crash).

And the driver after this destroyed a few laptop MXM and BGA soldered cards?

Why should I trust THIS driver?

 

It's BGA times, bruh. This means Nvidia know many of you out there are fully covered up. Aka most of you probably have payed for extended warranty. Todays tech ain't meant to last more than 3 years, top 4 years. Then its back to the same OEM and buy new toys and Nvidia is one part of it. They sell graphics

 

Guyz just want to add.. For people like me who uses Geforce Experience.. They have added more telemetry stuff when I open Autoruns.. Also Geforce Experience won't run if you disable the telemetry.. They are getting worst.. Goodness sake.. @Phoenix hope you've got a trick under your sleeve to sort this out coz as far as I know you also use the program for 1 click button to optimized.. ^_^

Debloat would mean no geforce experience.. right? I need the 1 click button to optimized.. hahahahaha.. sucks right? will wait for phoenix.. he might have a solution.. if not I need to learn how to optimized manually..

 

According to the folks on Guru3d, the installer will fail now if you delete all the folders - except GFE folder

Haven't bothered trying this version myself, so I'm just reporting what I've read

 

This was only a superficial change due to GDPR. They removed this setting in the Control Panel but actually added more telemetry if you have GFE installed. Also the Nvidia Telemetry Container service still gets installed.

 

Amen to that one, Brother @jaybee83 . I only use @j95's excellent decrapified GeFarts driver mods or my own mod by deleting all of the cancer folders prior to installation. I generally will not allow the GeFarts Experience filth on my systems... just keeps getting more and more bloated.

Even if you disable DSE? If so, that really sucks. But, I won't be surprised. If that is true, perhaps @j95 will figure out what code needs to be tweaked or removed to undo the Green Goblin's mess.

Any idea how to use a Shield Controller without installing telemetry and other bloatware?
The issue is that my Shield Controller will not even start working with games until I start up Geofrce Experience at least one time after installing the driver.

 

Nope. I used to kill/delete most of GFE stuff with a few batch files, including Profile Inspector to restore my custom settings...this was years ago, before it became a hopeless mess.

 

Anyone getting Lockups on this driver.

It was stable for awhile but now this is happening during game whilst running stock clocks.

 

Would this "Game" happen to be......PUBG?

 

Nope stopped playing that game and moved to Ghost Recon Wildlands : Ghost War (PvP part of Ghost Recon Wildlands )which happens to be the only part of the game with the issue the PvE part aka single\co-op runs fine. All others games are fine too. Just doing a DDU run right now.

Is the "optimus" folder actually needed if a person (say me for example) has a optimus compatible pc and is doing a bloat-free install

I installed the drivers j95 posted a few back (which didn't include that folder) and my laptop still seems to be switching between GFX cards. The only diff I've seen so far is the context menu (run with gfx processor) and notification tray icons (the one that tells which GFX is being used) seem to be MIA.
I didn't use DDU first, but did use the "clean install" option so I'm not sure if remnants of the previous driver (the optimus part) are still there and functioning as intended

 

Just an update might help others using DDU and reinstalling again fixed my issue the only change was Windows update kb4100403 which i am putting down to the fix they made with "Addresses an issue that may cause Windows Hello enrollment to fail on certain hardware that has dGPUs. " So if your having the same Hanging issues and the same output in event log do a DDU run and reinstall the drivers.
