Yeah. No. I don't have any reason to leave 365.19...

Version 341.95, dated March 2016, is the last official release for the 240M.
I'm honestly surprised they even released a driver this year considering that GPU came out in 2009.Ionising_Radiation, TomJGX, hmscott and 1 other person like this. -

Don't have to. Won't install anyway, because my GPU is too old and no more drivers for me.
Yeah, I know, I was just joking.
I am running the mentioned driver.Last edited: Jul 6, 2016 -
Can you please try it and post some bench numbers? Can't install the new driver and test self on my phone

LOL no, 2 hours, but we have to take into account taking a shower, having protein shakes, a meal, etc. -
That's still not 8 hours unless you include a nap and a football gameTomJGX, jaybee83, Papusan and 1 other person like this.

Uh, I was referring to bench(marking) results rather than bench(pressing) results, but nevertheless. -
Express installed through geforce experience as usual. Zero issues.

this driver is causing overwatch to crash the entire pc. initially i thought it might be hardware damage from overclocking the 980 but it crashed on stock clocks. and the temps weren't that high since the fans were on max speed.
-
Error and temps? Overwatch is harder on my PC than any other game.
-
Temp is between 40 and 50 degrees. No error given, just a hard system crash. I don't think it's the gpu either.

The previous drivers (.39) gave me 2 BSOD, one with MEMORY MANAGEMENT and one PAGE FAULT. The BSOD dump had ntoskrnl.exe and nvdmm.. etc. on my desktop.
This 368 driver branch is REALLY bad.
I'm currently testing these .69s on the 18. Will see if I get a BSOD. If DDU doesn't solve your issue along with rolling back. You'll have to reformat like I had to. :/jaybee83 likes this. -
I had .39 and no issues with overwatch.

Hey guys, so there's been two recent "golden" drivers. 365.19 is the more recent one, and then there was one before in an earlier branch, to be honest I don't remember the number. It was a 362.XX driver I believe. I went from that 362.XX, to 365.19 and have been on that up until two days ago when I decided to switch to this new driver, 368.69. I have an observation out of this progression:
Some of you may remember that in the 365.19 thread, I posted that when I switched from the 362 golden driver to the 365.19 golden driver, I experience a cpu lockup in the next dota 2 game I played (I had previously been running about -155mv undervolt with no issues). http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...9-findings-fixes.791570/page-11#post-10262216
I had switched from 362 to 365 using DDU and clean install. I kept getting lockups, about once in every two to three dota 2 games. In DOOM, I had no lockups at all. I attributed the it to just temperature increase from the weather here, and normal degradation of the cpu/paste etc over time. I figured dota 2 probably is more cpu intensive, where doom is probably more gpu intensive, and thats why the lockups were only in dota 2. I started to reduce my undervolt slowly. Interestingly, I got all the way down to -25mv and these lockups were still happening with the exact same frequency, about once in every 2 to 3 games. The lockups are essentially my screen freezes and whatever sound was just happening loops with about half a second period, which is what I know to be cpu lockup.
As soon as I switched to 368.69 (I just did express install because I was lazy), I jumped back on dota and played a couple hours with no lockups at all. I played a couple hours yesterday, and still had no lockups, so I slowly undervolted back up to -75, then -100, then -125. Today I moved it back up to -155 and played a couple hours. Still no lockups. Could it be that I wasn't actually getting cpu lockups, but rather was getting GPU lockups?? I thought with gpu lockups you get artifacts on the screen that quickly cover the screen. Or could it be that driver 365.19 truly was making my cpu less stable?Ethrem likes this. -
365.19 uses the CPU more in my experience with it than 362 did so it's not inconceivable that the drivers made your CPU unstable but running that kind of undervolt I'm amazed you're not running into more instability than that. Grab RealBench and run it on a 5 time loop and see if you go unstable. If you do, change your undervolt until you can reach full stability over 5 runs. Otherwise you run the risk of instability popping up at the worst times. Generally once I've found my max stable undervolt with RealBench I add 10-25mv to that to make sure it's stable and I haven't had any problems doing it that way. My desktop is more important for stability than my laptop since I do all my emulators on that so it gets the +25mv but my laptop hasn't had a crash at -85mv. It's the same undervolt I've been running since I got the machine in 2014 so I'd have noticed it by now.
And yes normally when the GPU crashes it triggers a TDR (game might crash and it will say that the video card stopped responding and recovered) but not always.hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
Thanks I'll try that. I still think it's interesting that on 365.19 I was unstable even at -25mv and with the same frequency of lockups as -155mv. Makes me think there's another factor at play. The whole time I was just thinking it was just due to weather (humidity and temp here during summer) and hardware settling.
hmscott likes this. -
Instability can be caused by a wide range of factors. Lately I've even stopped using DDU after discovering that it was leaving crap over from my old driver install and have been just doing the clean install option with the nVidia driver itself. NVidia released a driver at one point that I just couldn't get rid of so I nuked the whole OS drive and started over. Now I'm just much less likely to update my drivers unless I'm forced to.hmscott likes this.
-
That's why I do both DDU and Nvidia installer Custom=>Clean install.
DDU from time to time messes up and leaves stuff behind on some releases. It might be differences in structure in the Nvidia releases, and DDU needs to catch up. -
As far as I can tell, 362.00 made my CPU extremely hot (10c+ reduction from 365.19 alone), so it's possible that 365.19 did something special. I don't know about 368 branch.
-
suffice it to say there's sum-ting-wong with these drivers.
-
So far no issues for me
-
that's the thing: it's only in overwatch when it crashes.
-
Just use 368.25. Working great with Overwatch.
-
i have .39 for mirror's edge catalyst.
-
Well apparently I'm on 368.20 right now... Forgot to roll back to 365.19 when I reinstalled Windows 10. Noticed a massive framerate crash in Heaven so I'm going to do that rollback right now... Probably also explains why ePSXe keeps crashing randomly and pissing me off.

had a random crash in blops3 - display driver crashed on stock. not sure if it's a one off thing. this is with the .39 driver.
though then again i never played blops3 with this driver on the 980m nor did i have issues with overwatch.
