Naah, I posted there once about an issue related to stuttering or something and was annoyed by Sora guy in that forum. Looks like Sora asked the question about CUDA 9->8 transition. Looks like HDR support is enhanced.
I will install GFE if there's no telemetry and background activity at all aside from Game recording or streaming.
EDIT: Ohh and @Papusan how have you set Physx settings in nvcp is it Auto or set to CPU? I uninstalled NVCP.

@j95 Do you recommend removing NVCP or not? Does your modded driver prevent throttling mechanism and allow OC'ing?

Ah i see, seems @Phoenix was off the ball normally he/she is OP! Wonder if this driver will solve the issue of Black screen when opening The Division for the first time when MSI AfterBurner & RTSS is running (Used with HWInfo for OCD Temp monitoring).

Download all my INF mods from here once it goes live.

    Code:
    # Download nvidiaProfileInspector from here only -> https://ci.appveyor.com/project/Orbmu2k/nvidiaprofileinspector/build/artifacts -> "export all customized profiles" -> leave unchecked "include predefined settings"
    # DDU
    # Disable driver signing
    # 7-Zip -> extracted driver package >> delete folders as shown above (don't skip this step) <<
    # Display.Driver folder -> copy only the corresponding INF file(s) below -> run setup.exe -> custom -> clean install option -> "Installation Successful” -> close installer.
    # nvidiaProfileInspector -> "import profile(s)" -> "refresh current profile".
    # Reboot
    # Nvidia Control Panel -> Change resolution -> "Use Nvidia color settings" -> Manage 3D settings -> Set Performance options.

@Vasudev Nope, keep NVCPL. I'm basically removing Nvidia's bloat and changing a few entries, for serious overclocking you'll need FW mods.

I'm using Prema mod on alienware 15 r2 w/ 980m 8GB. So, nvidia optimus folder isn't needed, right?
Since I'm using Optimus/Prime based muxless GFX switch, monitor settings and other things are handled by Intel CPL and there are no options in NVCP. I actually switched to nvidia inspector which is quite cool. Is there any way to trim unneeded GPU models in the inf. I don't want older GPUs and I prefer Pascal and above only, is it safe to delete older unused GPU entries?

I think I am going to skip this driver. Nothing much going on with it according to the release notes (unless Nvidia is hiding more fixes). The previous one was awesome because it finally fixed the Doom issue with GTX 1070 not letting the GPU downclock at idle after exiting the game.

The default setting in the nVIDIA Control Panel for Power Management is OPTIMAL which SUCKS. It's supposed to keep your GPU Clocks at 0 MHz when there is no draw on the screen and ramp up the clock speeds when there is any draw on the screen accordingly. Sounds great on paper, but it is the first thing that I tell people to change when they complain about performance issues. I always keep mine on Adaptive which puts the GPU clock speeds at a lower speed and ramp them up when playing games or benchmarks. Offcourse for benchmarks, I just leave it on High Performance so check that before you blame any driver for performance issues.

The Doom issue was listed in the release notes from the previous driver. I went to the nvidia forums right now and one guy is saying the latest driver (this one) has increased load time with Doom when Vulkan is enabled.
