    Might be good for pascal but many others with older laptop cards are getting black screens, same bug as with these last drivers here: and same error on very latest drivers (read page 2):

    https://forums.geforce.com/default/...play-driver-feedback-thread-released-6-5-18-/

    https://forums.geforce.com/default/...ers/help-driver-397-93-caused-black-screen/2/

    https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1056673/geforce-drivers/problem-with-geforce-driver-397-93/

    One user had his laptop apparently permanently damaged.
    "driver power state failure?" is not a good error to have for frying video cards.

    Looks like 1050Ti is busted too.

    Hi Prema. Have they fixed the erratic load issue that you mentioned which seemed to have killed quite a few cards, including the 1080 in P775TM? I'm giving anything newer than 390.77 a wide berth until you give green light :p

    Maybe they changed Windows drivers to Linux drivers or maybe they were watching Darker Than Black Anime and testing, if the blacks were darker/lighter than the blacks they saw in their coloring book.
    @Phoenix and @Falkentyne Do you see any speedup/improved colors on DP 1.3/HDMI 2.x TV/Monitors after applying the FW patch. Do make sure you have stock vBIOS.
    Manuel from gfe forums said, any speedup/quicker animations is a placebo effect while Sora says its only a GOP update. https://www.nvidia.com/object/nv-uefi-update-x64.html
    FWIW, I am excited since my card's GOP hasn't been updated in over 3 yrs eventhough I got an older AW BGA instead of newer AWs.
    Maybe @Papusan can try on his 980?

    No idea...

    The update doesn't include an MXM UEFI vBIOS for Maxwell and the included and cross-compatible Pascal update is over 3 months older than Clevo's shipping vBIOS...

    Here are a couple benchmarks from the new driver...These are from the rig in my signature (Spoiler). Personal bests on both so the driver did help some.

    Both benchmarks were ran at (GPU) 2100mhz core and 6055 Memory. CPU was at 5.1ghz

    398.11 working fine on my machine. Very stable. I used the WHQL without the "geforce experience". Having some minor issues with pixel ghosting/video corruption, which I've posted in the Clevo P6XXSX owner's thread, but I think it may have something to do with the vBIOS as it is 100% duplicated in Linux with different driver versions. I'd definitely appreciate some advice on this if anyone has the time.

    Hi @j95 , quick question. If ever I will install your bloatware free driver and install geforce experience separately, would it affect performance? I have tried running 3dmark firestrike with and without geforce experience. It shows that without geforce experience I am gaining more firestrike gpu graphic score. Thank you for your time.

    I use stock driver with modified setup.cfg from j95. So far so good.
    Even with DSE disabled, my gpu refuses to be detected by modded j95 drivers.

    @0lok , @Vasudev
    BIOS -> disable "Secure Boot"
    Disable DSE:
    cmd (admin) bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy -> reboot -> keep holding 'F8' -> select "Disable driver signature enforcement"

    Extracted driver package -> copy 'setup.cfg' -> delete sub-folders as shown above.

    Display.Driver folder -> copy both nv_dispi.inf & nvdmi.inf -> run setup.exe -> custom installation -> check "Clean install" option.

    So secure boot is problematic? I use secure boot just to get rid off slow boot process, it takes 15-20secs to startup.
    As always DSE is disabled and currently I'm on Vulkan development driver which is beta driver and performed better than Nvidia's Day One driver for win 10 v1803. OpenGL,Vulkan and DX11/12 performance is top notch with this beta driver. Also, CUDA acceleration is way faster.
    I'll try your modded drivers and report back. Thank you for your time.

    I installed it using secure boot w/o any issues. But, I had lower benching scores, lower performance on CUDA simulations and even gaming. In 3dmark I get Driver version not recognised. I feel its because of Hf driver from nvidia which are beta.
    So I went back to 397.97 in your SW mod section which had better performance. Only issue with 397.97 is 3dmark flags it as Invalid driver version, otherwise benching scores are 2997 on Timespy, 8300 on firestrike on 980M.

    Okay thanks.
    Was Optimus buggy in nvidia stock driver?
    These days I'm using desktop driver on my most issues are somewhat reduced aside from Windows 10 issues causing frequent stutters.
    This driver should be WHQL, its best driver to use.
    Thank you.
