I think I'll skip this driver. There seems to be high DPC latency issue still unresolved.

May have to test this, kinda hard to tell since it only happened once.

[G-SYNC]: G-SYNC may still be active after closing a game, causing the desktop to stutter. []

    Using a 240Hz G-Sync panel.

Then again this is post Spring patch:

[G-SYNC]: Windowed G-Sync mode may stutter after upgrading to Windows 10 Spring Creators Update. [2097340]

Any performance improvements to constant stuttering on Optimus laptops? Suddenly it stutters out of nowhere in game on prev. whql driver.

So here's something interesting. I used to always run the latest and greatest drivers from nVIDIA, believe it or not, after owning my GT75 for more than 2 months, I have yet to actually play a game on it. so today I had some free time and fired up Need For Speed Payback and started playing, I noticed that every minute or two, everything would become very stuttery like the FPS would drop down to 1 FPS then all of a sudden it would go back to buttery smooth. I thought it's a random glitch at first but then when it happened more frequently, I uninstalled the latest nVIDIA Driver v398.36 and installed the latest nVIDIA Driver from MSI's website which in this case was v391.48 and what do you know, the game was buttery smooth with 0 stuttering or glitches. So lesson learned, I will stay away from nVIDIA's crappy drivers and stick to the ones that MSI posts I guess they are tested by MSI that's why they are far behind in driver versions but at least they work.

Well I'm not going to upgrade now lol. I usually run my drivers for a long while, only upgrading when a new game release or fix pushes me in that direction.

I've been extremely happy since I stopped installing GFE a year or so ago. Only feature I ever wanted to use from it was the battery boost frame limiter and it didn't work for SLI anyway, and of course there are other ways to limit FPS.

Try the development driver from Nvidia. Its actually beta but performs very great on my BGA maxwell. You can download it from Prema's website or j95's post #6. Benching scores will be low since its not certified. But during gaming it gives me more FPS than WHQL driver.
If you still want latest drivers use j95's modded drivers.
One more thing which I'll say after Pap's suggested me was to install desktop nv drivers and guess what I don't have power throttling whilst OC'ing my Maxwell BGA.

I've been having some issues ever since I updated from 398.11. I currently have 398.36.

After 398.11, I began randomly getting a black screen when loading Win 10 or after I reopened my lid from being in hibernation. Once I updated to 398.36, it appears to be fixed. HOWEVER now, I have Windows pop up some sort of notice about blah buttons to broadcast my game, etc. (I'm pretty sure these aren't Nvidia's notifications.) AND I've been getting BSOD randomly while browsing the internet or after I've been playing a game for quite some time. The BSOD is SynTP.sys and said Driver IRQL Not Less Or Equal. :(

I have a Powerspec 1510 (Clevo P650HS-G.) I read on another website that the issue may be where I'm getting the Nvidia drivers (I'm getting them from Nvidia); they said you should always get your Nvidia drivers from your OEM.

Here is what the Windows pop up looks like:

You can disable broadcast under Settings > Gaming section. I enable only game mode and broadcast is off.

@Vasudev I went and disabled it...so far, so good. I did find out that my touch pad was back on. (I usually turn it off because I use a wireless mouse.)

@yrekabakery If I get a BSOD for the same error again, I'll try this fix. It appears to be a good fix for most people. However, will it permanently disable my keyboard and mouse?

@Hossbando Yeah, I read about that on another forum. Where did you find the drivers? I can't find drivers anywhere on their website.

If you do it right, it should not. But I would create a system restore point before attempting, just in case.

It seems that Synaptics have updated their website within the past few weeks they forgot to include the download links.
    https://www.synaptics.com/resources#drivers
Zero links to any driver download on that page as of this post date.

I'm actually serious (and curious), can you cook an egg with that? I mean, even if the GPU itself is 90C the heatsink should be about 80C... is that enough to cook?

I thought it was just me. I have glitches on cities skylines, a white line that flashes on ROBLOX, and more frame stutters in City Car Driving. I play cities skylines only now, and it's bearable since its not fast paced.

Nvidia needs to get its game (Ha. ha.) up with its GameReady drivers (sorry. I just had to.) They add an entire 2-3 seconds to the boot sequence, which is infuriating when my parents' desktop (Pentium G4560 with cheapo $40 SSD vs my 8250U + top of the line (almost) 960 Evo) gets to the desktop faster.

DDU, Downgrade to 390 or 391 and wait. That works for me and should work for people looking over their shoulders to see if Ngreedia is going to stab them in the back (again).

@j95 For some reason, 398.58 gave worse performance on Witcher 3 and wasn't playing nice with custom refresh rates. FPS was in 20-25 in Witcher 3 High settings at FHD whilst on older developer driver it was constantly above 60 and hovered between 65 and 75. Reverted back, deleted hidden/ghost monitors for the issue to be fixed.
    Went back to 397.96.
I also tried Stock Nvidia developer driver w/ bloatware in secure and insecure boot modes. Maybe new W10 update wrecked.

Please, could someone point to the best driver they used for all 2018th? Without 0.5s freezes on some actions in OS (Windows 7 x64) and without player crash playing HEVC etc as I had with 391.35. Is 391.48 worth it?
1st Maxwell Gen here 850M/860M. Would stay at 337.88 if newer games weren't so slow on it. Would be very grateful for help!

@j95 Can you also let me know how to modify inf file correctly instead of guessing section value on by one?

Currently im trying to install 870M to my P150EM Laptop, but i fails to install it correctly all the times with guessed section value. it always returns error 43, which happens when i installs driver with wrong section value. (it also happened when i tried to manually mod driver for 970M, it didnt happened and worked flawlessly with your driver inf mod.)

I am really curious how do you actually gets proper section value, without trying one by one.
Please let me know how can i achive that. Thanks.

Check Clevo's 'nvcvi.inf' sections from here (P150EM included) and then add/replace with 870M IDs.
