Ok I'm going to join the Barbeque party. Did i spell that word right?

Going to install this piece of crap driver and see what happens to my idle clocks.
Never once have I installed any newer Gefarts driver after seeing the BS that happened in PUBG with the 395 series drivers.
I Hope you guys don't disappoint me. Or i'm going to microwave Ivan the Terrible, then microwave a Kitten, then go back to 391.48.

Im on 411.70 now and on adaptive power setting. Downclocking to 139 mhz at idle.
Prefer maximum performance runs full clocks as expected.
I haven't seen any weird stuff yet. I guess they fixed that driver that was blowing up MXM cards, then?
But I know something is going to be broken. Windowed gsync or some random RPG or other game.

Pretty amazing or rather call it clumsy from the Green team. Nvidia has not yet updated latest Release notes in drivers download site for their brand new RTX20xx cards. But the missing released Notes for 411.70 WHQL drivers found in GTX1080 driver download page.

Expect weird funtioning drivers for older Nvidia graphics due the new Turing cards.. @Ultra Male @Falkentyne :bigyes:

NVIDIA Fixes RTX 2080 Ti & RTX 2080 Power Consumption. Tested. Better, But not Good Enough Techpowerup.com | Today, 19:09

While conducting our first reviews for NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti we noticed surprisingly high non-gaming power consumption from NVIDIA's latest flagship cards. Back then, we reached out to NVIDIA who confirmed that this is a known issue which will be fixed in an upcoming driver.

Today the company released version 411.70 of their GeForce graphics driver, which, besides adding GameReady support for new titles, includes the promised fix for RTX 2080 & RTX 2080 Ti.

We gave this new version a quick spin, using our standard graphics card power consumption testing methodology, to check how things have been improved.

"The table above shows monitored clocks and voltages for the non-gaming power states and it looks like NVIDIA did several things: First, the memory frequency in single-monitor idle and Blu-ray has been reduced by 50%, which definitely helps with power. Second, for the GTX 2080, the idle voltages have also been lowered slightly, to bring them in line with the idle voltages of RTX 2080 Ti. I'm sure there's additional under-the-hood improvements to power management, internal ones, that are not visible to any monitoring"

Well this new update allowed me to overclock more on memory clock & I increased it +50Mhz with same voltage while being stable.. tested many times but no increase or effect on core clock.. I guess what they did with power tweaking on there new GPU affected the older ones too? maybe.. who knows :D

Not so much different from the prefered way. The Nvidia bloat ain't needed, bruh. And even less needed if you own gamingBook without Optimus. But nice seeing new tools intended for fighting against worse and worse products.

Edit. PS This junk is what MSI usually have offered their valuable customers. None should save or install bloatware.

Why does optimal power mgmt mode isn't optimal, it almost thermal throttled my laptop and killed my battery by pulling a lot of energy giving crap battery life. I forgot to import nvidia inspector profile settings and now everything is good.

Are they trying to throttle older gpus? I think that clock bug was present in 381.xx series for maxwell 2?

I'm having issues ever since this Nvidia 411.63 update and it carried over to the 411.70 update. I have two different 144hz monitors and a 980ti. One is a Dell S2716DG and the other is a BenQ XL2730Z. Every other day my BenQ will stop turning on. My PC still sees it and I can drag windows over to it but the monitor just says "no signal". If I jiggle the DP cable on my card just slightly the main monitor will switch from Dell to BenQ... leaving the Dell is a catatonic state instead... The only fix I found so far is swapping the DP slots my DP cables go into on my card with one another each time it happens, then they both come on like normal.

Known bug with the Nvidia BBQ Party @Papusan
File a bug report with Nvidia. Read the forums on geforce.com and the 411.70 driver thread there.
Contact them and give a system report. Maybe even tell them to hire someone who knows how to write a driver properly.

Ho...lee...sheet! This is the first time I got any noticeable FPS improvement in-game. In the past when I updated the drivers I never noticed any performance improvement (probably due to being none or being very abysmal), but with this driver, coming from 388.something, I got quite a big bump in ACOd, from average of 18FPS on medium, to 40ish FPS on high...
