Please re-read the 1st page. From there you can know what Pstate you have to use and you can dial in your OC

Install the latest if you don't have it or if you think you have problems even with the newest version. Yes you have to follow zero's tutorial.
Throttlestop is for maintaining longer boost and higher CPU MHZ over time and temp
You will need to contact svl7/Prema for that.
Depends on your card, the sky's the limit ;)

Hello I'm Flávio and I have a NVIDIA GT 630M but for some reason I can not overclock the GPU clock! its locked up to 797mhz. The only way I can get to overclock it , its by using msi afterburner but after a while I get drops in the gpu usage wich cause frame lost!

I've been running mine at 1000 MHz/2530 MHz for about a month. It hovers around 65 degrees under full load. The performance increase is sizable. Others have it turned up even higher than that with no issues that I've seen. Depends on your cooling too, I would imagine.

Overclocking 101: Increase in small increments. Run a GPU benchmark or game on max settings. Check for high temp, artifacts or glitching. If none, repeat until you find happiness. Otherwise, back it down.

    630M is not a kepler, it's a Fermi card.

    Using 306.97 - 310.90 I can push 810MHz 1114MHz 24/7 while the CPU is also at 100% load

BF3 @high settings (no AA) can run at 25-30~35FPS+

    Follow bearfight's instruction. :)

This methode worked great on the 306.97 driver. On newer drivers NvInpector wont run the batchfiles anymore. Anyone knows a fix?

306.97 has far been the best choice of stability for mobile drivers

Idk about the newer ones, but it always helps to contact the developer of nvinspector :)

Just wanted to add my findings to the mix. I have a Samsung Series 7 Chronos NP700Z5C-S02UB with a 640m 1gb. After toying around with this method for a while I was able to clock to 985/2800 and it was at least stable enough to get me through 3dMark11. I find that I get driver display errors when I go much higher, yet it doesn't seem to blue screen me. Also, I'm forcing pstate 0 and not pstate 5 and am getting mixed readings on my voltage: .925 from HWMonitor (which I use to monitor temps) and .962 from GPU-Z, so I'm not really sure what I'm getting but it's somewhere around those values.

My 3dMark11 score is P2785, which is a little bit lower than I was hoping for, but I'll take it :) NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M video card benchmark result - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3635QM CPU @ 2.40GHz,SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. NP700Z5C-S02UB score: P2785 3DMarks

Also, temps ended up being at maximum 92c for my CPU and 79c for the GPU, so I'm not sure I would actually keep these clocks for anything other than a test run because that is a little bit high for me. Not sure if I could manage to get much better than these clocks but I might try a few more settings to see what I can do.

You're not overclocking more than 135Mhz on the core clock

Read the 1st post on how to have 135Mhz+ overclock

    Also, don't doublepost :p

I have the same model exactly. Do you mind sharing your batch files and stuff? Be nice to put together a how-to guide for this model.

Did you mod the BIOS? Or do you just use Pstate shortcuts?

Reading the first post, it seems like modding the BIOS is not necessary if using this method, by creating the correct shortcuts for Nvidia Inspector in Win7? Is that right? Or am I missing a step?

When I tried it with mine card I got really excited about the MX versions because they have quite low clocks. Even going just +135MHz on the core might be huge and the 670MX will also benefit from a higher memory clock.

So, I'm designing my batch files.

While I could slow-crank it, I'm wondering if I can save myself some time, and actually get some good confidence in.

I see on other forums that this is a binned part, so those chips that seem not as...perfect become 640ms and 640m LEs. What I was wondering is how much warning one might have per chip? It would be really sweet to make my 640 into a ized 660 (835 mhz core clock, 2000 mhz memclock) and this seems to be considerably below what some others have posted getting. What I'm wondering is does that mean these particular folks got really lucky on their 640m, or is it likely that all Keplers will be able to achieve such clocks? Thanks.

Do you people need to do smth more for newer Nvidia drivers like 310 etc? When I used 29X driver all was fine. Now on 310v. I found that it uses different P-state but even after changing bat file I stlill do not get what I want.
Usually clocks stays at 400 Mhz instead of what I set.

Why thank you so very much! I originally overclocked my 640m 2 gb ddr3 with NvidiaInspector GUI but could only manage a +135 Mhz increase. With your input I managed a stable 950/1000 overclock with a max temperature of 67 degrees celcius. The card will run 1000/1050, but I dialed it back a notch to be on the safe side. Thank you again. I'm very pleased! :)

    950/1000 overclock:
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm06/17142426 - 3DMark insisted that the memory clock was 1050 during the last run, even though I already dialed it back to an even 1000.

I am having an issue with overclocking. For some reason when I'm playing a game I suddenly lose my overclock. It's easy to tell when this occurs because the screen will flicker, or turn completely black for about 2 seconds and when the picture returns I notice a drop in frames. If I Alt-Tab nvidiaInspector shows me the default clocks and if I exit the game the pstate changes to P8. I have a GT 650M DDR5 on a Sager NP6165.

It means too big overclock. Your driver crashes and relaunches. You need to reboot and et lower values for better stability. You always can use Furmark for testing stability.

Is there any hope for overclocking with newer nvidia drivers yet? I would prefer my computer to be always up-to-date, but it seems that all new drivers are not compatible with P-state method.
I find it frustrating if I have to keep using this outdated driver for extra clock speed. I have been waiting for some time and it shows no sign of progress. Not to mention that there is no available vbios for GE60 out here. :(

Hi everybody. I've read the guide and this post about 650M gddr3 overclocking, now i see the version of driver and inspector which i need, but that post says nothing about vBIOS.
Could please anyone explain if I should install vBIOS to follow the instructions from Oz!'s post (and, if yes - which one)? Will it work with stock BIOS?

    Thank you in advance!

    P.S. I have Samsung 550p5c with 650M

v306 is not so outdated driver... after all you may chose either +135Mhz with newest driver or unlocked OC with older. th tells me that we gonna wait too long for a bios...

Can you try OCing to 135MHz+ without a modded vBIOS first?

It may work without the need to flash your BIOS

I tried Oz! instructions without flashing modded BIOS - works fine, clock stays on 900Mhz and doesn't drop. GPU temperature stays on ~ 80-85C. Great :)

I also cant seem to get these new drivers work with the batch files and no BIOS tweak, all I can get is to force P0 state but +135 max. I wander if there is a big difference between 306 and these new 314 drivers... Anyone successful on fighting these new drivers ?
