    Hi.

I am very much interested in the upcoming Compaq V3000 which features a turion X2 and the geforce 6150 integrated video and nforce 430 video card.

What is the performance of this video card? Will I be able to play certain games at low to mid detail?
The games I am curious about are:

Need For Speed Series - Most Wanted , Underground 1/2
    Half Life / Half Life 2 / CS 1.6 / CS:S

If it can play those then I am sold since I am a very casual gamer and being a student limits my budget.

    Thanks

The GeForce 6150 is an extremely low end video card. It'll run many things at very low settings.

The GeForce 6150 is slightly more powerful than the ATI's older 200M. It should have no problem running the games listed at low settings. However, CS 1.6 and HL will run very well at around 100 FPS. After all these are old games and made like several years ago.

Impressively, the 6150 even runs Doom 3. You have to run it at 640x480 and disable some details (I think we had to disable shadows), but it's very playable.

    6150's good stuff.

Thanks guys. Its just that this is the only nvidia video card out there so far with the Turion X2. If nothing better comes up, then I might just save up more money and get the Asus A8JC/M.

However this platform is also kinda old. It was first released for socket 754 amd 64s. Thats like 2 years old right there. The graphics card might have been updated a bit, but with 2 pipelines and 64bit memory I doubt it will be able to play the games at the quality I like.

Still for the price, atleast there is now a competitor to the ati xpres200m.

That is interesting - the X200M has been the dominant benchmark for integrated graphics for quite a while now, and is widespread across the notebook industry. If Nvidia doesn't get their chip into notebooks, the X200M will remain the leader (not referring to performance).

If the 6150 only has two pipelines, that's pretty pathetic, especially when coupled with a 64-bit interface. You'll definitely have to run everything at lower settings.

Check the Video Card Comparison chart at the top of this forum for info on that.

The Go6150 is Nvidia's answer to the ATI X200M.
