I've been looking at some of the current notebooks on the market (after my own acer 5102 slowly but steadily died on me). I'm just wondering about the overall performance of the integrated 7150M (with up to 557MB shared) compared to the likes of the Ati X1100 or GMA X3100 - all integrated notebook graphic solutions.

Just curious...where did you get this list or these performance estimates? Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy if it were true, it'd mean i have the best integrated graphics possible! (which would explain why perhaps i can play HL2 at 30+ fps on high settings)

Basing it on reviews, date of productions and my own experience...

atix 1270 is a UPDATED and integrated version of mobility x700, slower a bit of course but x700 is far far away from x3100 performance...

7150m barely reaches go 6400 performance

Roughly speaking the go 7300 and x1300 is on the same level as ati x1270.

ati x1270 is definitely better than these dedicated solutions

    go 6200
    x300

    and maybe above
    go 7200...

just curious after looking at the toshiba u300, is the intel 943GML capable of running vista aero smoothly? is it better than the GMA 950? this model comes with vista premium...

Inte 943GML=gma950. Inte 943GML is the chipset, and it uses GMA950 as the IGP.

    X1270 IS waaaay slower than a x700.

Well the most powerfull integrated solutions are reaching the performance of x1350 and with the hopefully soon intruduction of DDR3 ram the speed should increase even further... btw x1270 supports shader model 3 which x700 does not... but yeah it is true that it is slower because it has been severely crippled by sticking it onto motherboard.

No it doesn't... the X1270 is still DX9.0b (shader model 2).

cant be... does that mean that only intel's x3000 has SM3?

i thought that 7150m also had that

GMA X3100 have SM3 right now, will get SM4 if intel releases the drivers as planned. Geforce 7150M has SM3.
