Hey, well, my laptop is in my sig, and i have been curious about replacing it with a 9800 from the GT 627, but i was wondering if it was the same MxM slot or not.
    Thanks!

Even if it did fit, can your cooling system such as your heatsink, fan, etc. cope with the extra heat ?? The 9800M GS is rated at 60watts and the 9600M GT is rated at 23watts, which is a very big difference. Even if it does fit and work, you may want to see if the heatsink, cooling system, etc. from the GT627 will fit and work in your GX620. I hope this helps. God Bless :)

Also another thing is that even if the 9800M GS fits and works and you use your stock GPU cooling systen, fan, heatsink designed for the 9600M GT, when your temp reaches a certain point, your GPU may shutdown to avoid being damaged from the extra heat that 9600M GT cooling system was not able to handle. Again I hope this helps. If you try it keep us all updated as I am sure other people are asking and wanting to try the same thing. God Bless :)

Well, you saying that the 9800 is a 60watt, that means MxM-III so i'm out of luck any way xD

Try to sweet talk with some MSI retailers and see if they will order you the heatsink and video card from the GT627. Good luck with that though.

The low end 9800 series is pretty cool, if you have the proper cooling for it. I honestly dont think you will be able to get a new card for it, but its worth a try to ask.

The one the MSI GT627 uses is MXM-IV (or another way of looking at it, MXM-III with the HE tab). Nonetheless, it could possibly fit in your notebook (in the OP's sig) as the GT627 and the 1651 share the same bottom base and the motherboard. Also, despite the GT627 having an MXM-II/III connector, it is still able to function with the MXM-IV card, as shown here:

But, you may have to replace the GPU heatsink, and definitely a new power supply as 90w won't be adequate for the 9800GS (get one with a higher Power rating, or get one the GT627 uses).
