I am having some issues with the desktop color settings in the nVidia control panel. I made some adjustments to the color settings and saved the changes, however, when I reboot my laptop the changes I made are reverted. When I open the nVidia control panel again and check the desktop color settings the sliders are still set exactly as I want them but I have to change one of them in order to actually apply the color effects. The same thing happens with each reboot which is becoming frustrating...

I am currently the Windows 7 x64 beta and this happens both with the beta drivers (from Windows update), and the latest official release from nVidia for Vista x64 (179.48).

So does anyone why the nvidia control panel is not loading the color settings on each startup?

    Thanks in advance...

Sometimes it's just a driver issue. I've had it happen just as you describe in both 7 and Vista. Reinstalling the driver usually fixes it.

Fyi, the most optimized driver for Windows 7 is 182.08.

I reinstalled more times than I can count and the problem doesn't seem to go away. When I reinstall it works for the 1st reboot but after I shut down and restart my laptop it starts happening all over again...

I tried installing the drivers you mentioned but they won't install. It says that it didn't find any compatible hardware. It's probably because my card is the 9600m GT and the drivers aren't for the mobile cards series. Is there a workaround for this?

Did you install from the laptopvideo2go inf? I checked, and it lists the 9600M GT in the device ID list.

Yea, make sure you replace the original .inf with the modded .inf. See this for instructions on installing the laptopvideo2go drivers: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11997

I dont know what this problem is but it happens to me all the time... I hate it...

I LOVE the color settings because even though they might look oversaturated at first... its a BEAUTY compared to my standard colors...

I have had multiple drivers and this has always happened... its more of a windows boot problem where it doesnt load the color profile from nvidia or something...

My problem is always fixed because its the Color Vibrance thats always back to 0... So I just have to move it back up to 25-33%

Anybody might know why I dont get the nVidia control panel option when I right click on the desktop anymore?

I updated to the drivers previously recommended via the modded inf and I do see some performance gains indeed. However, the same problem still occurs. So can anyone point me to a 3rd party utility that'll load a custom color profile on startup.
