Sounds great but we'll see.
-
dunno how it will affect apple laptop though... no mention of it in the article...
i dunno if they do this yet, but i would like to see that the update can be seamlessly downloaded and installed within the forceware application itself. they should do some sort of NVIDIA updater. -
Great stuff. Problem is, it won't make a heck of a lot of difference for a lot of people. Most people just don't care and those who do have already done something about it.
-
this is great news,
I can retire -
This is... awesome. But if I have that NVIDIA updater thing, then how about those driver sweeper methods? Do I need to use it anymore?
http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook_drivers.html
On the feedback page it says "GeForce Go 7 Series for Notebooks (will be supported in an upcoming release)". Wonder how long that'll be. -
Awesome
-
Quadro drivers are not available though
-
-
That might fix a few problems along the way.
Although I much more prefer custom drivers... -
-
...nooooooes... no Sony VAIO support! T_T
-
.
-
Do you install these the same way you install the LaptopVideo2Go drivers (i.e Driver Sweeper in Safe mode, reboot and install)? Or do you just update them over your current drivers?
Either way, this is really good news! Can't wait to try them out. -
Didn't I reply to your post?
-
lol,
this was the excuse I needed.
joking aside:
I've had a look at it and I have to say the system they've got is really good.
Basically they have two setup.exe.
The first setup.exe detects your device id and sub id, it will then look at the oem infs found in the 'display' folder for the ones that matches it,
the second.exe will then install the driver with that oem inf.
This is really good since I can then make specific infs with specific oem settings and add them to the driver and the installer will install the correct one for you guys.
At the moment not all oem infs and its specific settings are included in these current ones so I can add the missing oem infs myself like Dell vostor and sony VAIO etc
Which means max specific compatibility and my added performance for the drivers
But there is like huge amount of oem settings out there which would take time to do (a large amount of time), 3 months gaps in each release is enough for me though. -
Driver allows overclocking via the control panel for 9800 and 8800 M GT / GTX models
-
With these new drivers you will gain another big fan, me. The stability I need is already in them. Your latest DOX crashed in HD playback and also the display was garbled after sleep mode. I cannot wait for your latest release based on official M drivers. Maybe it was my ASUX, who knows
.
Keep it up mate.

Used 3dmark06 to do a benchmark with this new driver. My m1530 got a score of 4808. Highest score I have gotten so far, and it is almost 200 points higher than the driver Dell has.
-
Hmmm...might be worth my while to try these out, especially if driver-level overclocking is doable using nTune.
-
Software OC of the 9800M GT through nTune is confirmed.
-
im really used to custom drivers....BUt wait wait doable or double using ntune??Cuz if its double i see if its doable idk wat the differnence of ntune is.
-
Doable = it can be done.
Double = twice of something.
nTune is just Nvidia's in-house alternative to RivaTuner. -
so, i need a modded inf to install these drivers don't i...
-
For now. Nvidia's made it known that the 7 Series will be included in a future release.
-
It's literally my b-day today.
I'll be updating my drivers soon, then I will compare the "official" drivers to the custom ones. -
I didnt know the differnce in n-tune
Is it better than riva-tuner?
Cuz riva tuner worked pretty good. -
Probably the biggest score on NBR by a mile

@OutCtrl: Sorry about the confusion, it sounded like you misread what I wrote. I personally prefer nTune because it's from Nvidia (I have a slight distrust of third-party software when it comes to important system components) and it integrates into the Nvidia Control Panel.
Being able to set rules so profiles are loaded on startup, if a game starts, or if the GPU gets to a certain temperature is nice too. -

Sony must be a nominee for worst driver support out there. If I stuck to using their official drivers that their support website for the Asia/Pacific region says are the 'latest' I would be using 12 series drivers (7.15.11.128). Hopefully those good folks at laptopvideo2go will countinue bringing out modified imfs for those of us who made a bad call and brought from manufacturers who really couldn't care less about their customers.
-
Much to my delight, installing the drivers resulted in a considerable increase in performance! Whilst running Counter-Strike Source on the utmost maximum using the stock drivers, I achieved between 30 and 40 frames per second, whereas I'm now averaging over 100.
-
-
Finally something newer for my Dell than March !!
-
Ok, I've got a full PC backup in case things go pear-shaped. Will be upgrading and benchmarking tonight!
-
meh---My laptop's GPU under Vista 64 isn't supported.
-
123 MB for the Vista 32-bit GeForce driver?!? That is quite hefty. I may give it a try next week.
-
Anyone else lose the 1440x900 option in Fallout 3 with these drivers?
-
So guys how are they. I will be taking the risk of installing them myself.
-
I installed this driver on my Macbook Pro (was using Dox's 178.24) and it seems to have resulted in decreased performance across the board. Half-Life Lost Coast bench is down from 71 FPS to 61 FPS, FarCry is the same, and Overlord went from just fine to barely playable (4 FPS anywhere but the citadel).
*sadness*
UPDATE: Nevermind me, I temporarily fixed the ACTUAL cause of my low FPS (broken PCI-EXPRESS LANES), and now I've gone from 73.0 FPS on my old drivers to about 74.0 FPS on my new drivers. These drivers rock! -
Sounds like great news.
Glad to hear that Dox will be planning on tweaking these. The only thing stopping me from using his drivers now is the sleep issue I have. I don't game enough where I can justify the increased performance versus daily force-shutdowns 'cuz the screen won't turn back on. -
Anyone with a Clevo/Sager 8800M GTX tried these yet?
-
-
So how do these do in crysis
-
FO3 and Warhead run basically the same for me, which is good, cause they run well
-
Do not download. Incredibly bad for Crysis and Crysis Wars.
-
180.84.1 Dox drivers are better for me than these drivers.
-
Need 9400M support...
