    hey guys. I should decide between two laptops: one has a 9600M GS with 1GB of memory, and the other a 9600M GT with 512MB of memory. The GT might be better with the same memory, but a GS with the double of memory is still worse?

    It cant use all of the memory anyway. ;)

    A GT is a little better. If they are both the same memory type.

    DDR3 vs DDR3:

    GT = 500/1250/800
    GS = 430/1075/800

    Not a huge difference, and the amount of memory can be ignored. I'd go with the GT anyway, depending on what processors they're paired with.
