has anyone had trouble with the HDMI audio not working with any of the nVidia drivers?

I have a HP dv3t and HDMI audio was working with the stock drivers but ever since i started updating them the HDMI audio stopped working.

and yes I make sure to switch the audio to HDMI in IDT panel.

Hm, have you checked to see if any type of settings have changed in your Nvidia control panel area.

there are no settings for the HDMI really

i'm guessing the TV could be a possibility but i don't see how that could be the problem since there are no settings to play with.

Try using an old driver. Also make sure there isn't an HDMI specific driver as well. ATi cards (or at least my desktop Radeon 4670) require a separate HDMI audio driver on top of the display drivers themselves if you desire audio through the HDMI port.

Are you installing official NVIDIA drivers, or LV2G ones? Do you use Driver Sweeper? In some cases (actually most) the LV2G drivers don't come with HDMI Audio drivers (NVIDIA HD AUDIO) so what you do is you download the latest version of the driver (remember this is assuming what you updated to are LV2G drivers) straight from NVIDIA, install both the display and the audio, and then after restarting, go to Control Panel, and uninstall the video driver ONLY through Programs and Features. After that, boot into safe mode, use Driver Sweeper to clean up only the NVIDIA graphics (there should be checkboxes for several other), and then boot into normal mode, install your video drivers. After that it should be all good.

Otherwise if you're already on official drivers, then maybe you should use Driver Sweeper to clean up the audio driver as well. I don't think this would happen on official drivers from NVIDIA's website, though. Hope this helps. :D

Uninstall all drivers and use drive sweeper in safe mode and wipe out all traces of your old drivers.. then go to the NVDIA website and download the 195.39 drivers which you'll find under beta drivers or get the 186.81 drivers. You should have no problems then.
