thanks for this, where did you find them as I was constantly checking on the nVIDIA Drivers download site and they're still on 376.33

Ahaha, decisions, decisions. I'm on 376.48 and everything is working. I don't have any of those games mentioned so I just might stay where I am.

I found this driver on guru3d.com.

 

Going to install it today and report back. W10, 680M, OW, DotA 2, CSGO and HotS.

 

Hoping to see if this is good or not. I actually have to consider using newer drivers from now haha

 

Okay seems alright.

No notable difference, but OW seems to run smoother with vSync, I have no idea why. Nothing in the other games.

My friend has weird flashing and black screens on his 1060 so he reverted.

Otherwise I would check this reddit thread for more information and feedback, nothing major here. Mostly 10xx-generation fixes and SLI fixes.

 

took the plunge and updated from 372.56

GTX980M modified bios with Optimus and 160mhz core oc + 300mhz mem oc

so far nothing significant in terms of performance

Heaven benchmark ultra, all maxed out at 1920x1080

372 and same oc - Score: 1459, Min FPS: 23.3, Max FPS: 119.2
378 and same oc - Score: 1456, Min FPS: 22.2, Max FPS: 119.1

there's also a new option called Optimise for Computer Performance, but I doubt it got anything to do with gaming



[EDIT] for some reason nvidia control panel is no longer there when I right click on desktop.... can't seem to get it back even after restart

Tested in the clevo GTX1080. It's a good driver with multiple improvements for game performance, however, there is flickering on all the games I played that is running at full screen. I rolled back the drivers and flickering is gone.

Yeap. It's just the latest one is bad with the flickering. I wasn't the only one apparently. There was a couple of users in the nvidia forum complained about flickering too.

Noticed some performance drop playing Skyrim SE. The GPU would be like only 65% usage and fps dropping to 35-40ish only compared to exact same scenario with 376.33 drivers playing @ 58 fps (with fps limit) using around 80% usage. Overall I did notice the fps drops earlier but haven't paid much attention... until fps drop became really noticeable while I was having a boss fight in the open with snow falls and daedras, and magic effects, etc (mods).

A long time since I was a Guinea Pig l let all the ****y be finished and tested before I try something new from the Morons Micro$hity, Nvidia, Intel or others who is known for crippling your costly hardware I would do the same even if I had enough money to buy new machine every week.

installed it on my desktop, so far it boosted performance a little bit, was using 376.09 before, only did really quick benches tho and after screenshot didn't get saved from firestrike :/



will test on my notebook too, but not today i guess

edit: plus it fixed my stretched bug in Heroes of the Storm, dunno what caused it but i had to play in DX9 to fix it, on NB it worked everytime, just as a little side info

The nV News forums went offline months ago after its founder unexpectedly died. The place was ghost town for a few years prior to this, but back in the day, it was one of the more influential NVIDIA fansites around. I had a cup of coffee there as a news editor and forum mod back in the early 2000s. If I recall correctly, many of the old regulars ironically relocated to Rage3D.

The NV forum software seems to me to be from the old BBS days and has not been updated, not even a 'like' button! Try going to the last page of NV drivers ( https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/33/); Last comments 47 years ago and full of spam links!??

Between NV and their pet troll the NV forums are a waste of time for getting sensible help.

But even then, he is merely toeing the corporate line, which of course he has to do. The only real use I've ever gotten out of that forum was during the short period of time I had a Shield TV. Youtube was still a better resource, though.

 

Actually my download failed and I simply refused to update. I'm sticking with 375.90 hotfix until I see a good driver from NV. Now, NV has become AMD and AMD drivers are good these days. There was some FAQs in Reddit about NV drivers. I'll quote it "Will driver update blow up my PC" My answer: Yes if your GPU is old and non reference card.
AFAIK, non reference cards from NVidia is same as reference design aside from cooling fan design changes. In non reference, the design of the card and cooling can be modified by OEMs. Correct me, if I'm wrong?

 

I installed this driver on my desktop and ran Firestrike, it's performance is almost identical to 376.33, http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/11532526/fs/11504316#

I installed this after getting a driver related crash in RE7, I was able to play for several hours without any crashes afterward so I can't complain,

 

MSI users complained that with this driver, their GPU reaches 85C in Fire Strike vs 76C on the MSI version of the nVIDIA Driver 376.39

Yeah the temps are a bit off in this one....... weird.. also for some reason I can push past 1000/2500 on my 680M, I am so confused



Currently hitting about 12.5k in Catzilla 720p - that benchmark is weird af tho, first time I got 12.5k with a higher CPU score, just redid it twice now, with fluctuating CPU scores, dafuq, the GPU one barely moves

 

And now I am being plagued by BSOD's.
