I haven't checked anything else tho.

 

I tried to install Creators Update like 5 times and it wont let me lol unless I probably do it via media creation or wait for my insider preview to kick in

That dude needs to setup / reset his color profiles. Probably forcing the new NVIDIA color management. Which i would prefer over Windows' ****ty management any day.

yes infact to prevent nvidia to killing my device I disabled "NvTelemetryContainer"service and hope my firewall is enough ^_^

 

This driver sucks for me. I can't overclock my 1080s as high using this new driver or the last new one. I get artifacts and lockups running overclocks that are stable with older drivers.

I'm not testing them stock because I don't care about stock. Seems like the goons at NVIDIA might be up to their tricks again, since this is two in a row that suck at overclocking.

I had no problem with my older @j95 driver mods with Crapstone 2 Creators Abortion.

 

Going to test the @j95 mod for this one. Hopefully, it will fix the overclock instability this new driver introduces.

 

This driver causes my F5 with the 120Hz display to go black/super dimm after driver install. I have to use a flash light on the screen to uninstall.

Thank you for the reply. It's just that the latest nvidia driver was giving me lower firestrike score. It might got something to do with the new update of 3dmark for win 10 creators update which I have read somewhere in the forum that @Mr. Fox suspects. Also I was on 376.60 nvidia driver previously which was causing me blackscreen from sleep mode that I thought was a bios problem. This just shows how nvidia is doing so well.. tsk.. Thanks again. This is more a general comment than to you specifically, but I bought my gaming laptop to play games. 3DMark is fine for testing overclocking and such, but as long as games I can actually play render correctly and run well, some number generated by a synthetic benchmarking algorithm means precisely jack and squat.

 

It appears after further testing the problem is the latest Fire Strike update, not the NVIDIA driver. I am going to uninstall 3DMark, reinstall it and refuse to accept the update to confirm that. I can run my normal max overclock without crashing on Sky Driver and 3DMark 11. It is only Fire Strike that has artifacts and Windows locks up. Unfortunately, the update to Fire Strike came at exactly the same time as the driver. (Perhaps that was planned.) So, I did not have a chance to test the driver without the screwed up latest version of Fire Strike.

Driver removed! Screen went black, freaked me out went back to 378.92.

so this driver says it cant find compatible graphics hardware on my asus GX800; all other drivers before it installed fine. Did they remove support for my model?

EDIT: turns out many others are having this issue on the NVidia forums with only Asus notebooks.

Don't see why this is surprising; it happened for a full what, 7 months on Lenovo owners who couldn't use newer drivers in 2015 and it had to be fixed in 2016?

 

Can confirm this, had a user try the new 3D Mark FS demo and he's on 376.60 and it breaks his 1060's OC (desktop). Nothing to do with the drivers, 3DMark just broke their software.

 

Works fine on GTX980m ... Good boost in Mass Effect Andromeda

 

The new Futuremark bench toys is a lottery. I hope they can fix it faster than last time. It took 4.5 months to fix it last year. The 3DM GUI problem started around same time M$ Pushed out the Anniversary edition of their cartoon OS. Exactly same as now!! Coincidence?

solid drivers for my P775DM3-G so far, finally brightness works out of the box without that ghetto device manager update, didn't try G-Sync yet tbh.

Make sure to turn off the Nvidia telemetry after installing this driver. (I only selected display driver and PhysX during installation.)

There's this new option in Control Panel, uncheck this to kill the telemetry task in Task Scheduler:



However, NVIDIA Telemetry Container service is still running constantly in the background , so disable that too:

i don't see the option to disable the telemetry....probably because i follow @j95's instructions when modding the drivers.

 

Quick question.

What purpose does it serve to mod the drivers for your GPU? I am missig something here?

 

Because I am using a non-standard GPU in my laptop and modding the drivers just for it to work.
