Drivers seem to give a bit more stability but unfortunately there's still stuttering in menus and races. This means T10 need to fix it.

Anyone else seeing extremely poor framerate in PUBG with the new driver?
Thought it was the network but my brother beside me had perfect frames, and it didn't change going from high down to medium settings.

UPDATE: It seems as though the new driver reset a lot of settings in the NVidia Control Panel and that led to it selecting maximum power saving for everything instead of preferring maximum performance. As such, once I applied everything back to how it was, everything is smooth and fine again.Last edited: Oct 12, 2017Vasudev likes this. -

@j95 sorry for off topic
Could you please investigate if is possible to you (and then for us to use) to import or add compatibility to NVML library/installation?
Because after the 382.53 nvidia has removed from Win7 installation or something, and is not possible anymore to check wattage by third party application.
Here for reference

Firstly install 387.92 Win7 PEG/Dedicated (copy only nv_dispi.inf + nvmii.inf).
Still missing, then try INF mod below.aaronne likes this. -
thanks for effort but gpu's wattage still not here

Besides Win7 something else is going on...same laptop as @Mr. Fox. Maybe vBIOS issue?
Check this folder.

It is not a vbios (id) thing.
On windows 10 is all ok also without your inf mod (387.92).
That folder is present in both system(win7 win10) -

Usually I delete extra stuffs(folders) before install, no nvidia bloatware. The same driver get wattage in W10 but not in Win7

Well thats strange. Use Nvidia Inspector just to check them settings bud just incase.

Maybe the douche bags at Micro$haft have partnered with the goons at the Green Goblin in a conspiracy to do more to ruin Windows 7. Considering what a failure Windows 10 has been, it would make sense.

Including nvml.dll?
Keep these folders only for Win7 (don't delete NVWMI) https://s1.postimg.org/9gryva10j3/387.92.png -

errr its fine.. dont worry about it.. im just saying its giving error.. dont really need this new one.. new always not good.. just giving this redstone 3 a shot as well.. can always go back using macrium..

You could ask @Vasudev for the driver. He have the Aw15R2 but with 980m. Shouldn’t be the big difference between those models.
-
Alienware's GPUs aren't supported in this release of Nvidia. So you need to wait for next release.
I do have drivers sent to me for testing by @j95 and I can't share it w/o j95's permission. BTW, the drivers are from 382.05 WHQL.
@j95 A reminder for you in case you forgot, those driver files you sent me (all of them) worked flawlessly w/o any issue. Even I tagged you saying AW BGA driver mod but I didn't get any answers (Thought you were busy). -
Just reread the thread. There is a hotfix that adds support for alienware. silly me.

Hotfix driver aren't signed and tested by nvidia themselves. So, I'd wait for couple of releases.

Am I the only one who thinks this driver is broken with the FCU version of Win10?
Tried Rise of the Tomb Raider in dx12 and GSync was not really working and the upper half of the screen was flickering.
Installed 382.90 and the game is so much smoother (GSync working much better) and there is no flickering.Last edited: Oct 22, 2017 -
did you mean 382.19? can't find 382.90.. if you could give a link for 382.90.. thanks..
-
382.90 which I am using was released for HP laptops with Pascal GPU.
I dont know if it will install for other laptops or not but here is the link:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81501-82000/sp81926.exe
Gsync is working with this using Win10 FCU. -
Was it just TR or everything? The new Rise of the Tomb Raider or the 2013 one?
EDIT: I just downloaded the pendulum demo again and I'm noticing some tearing in that in GSync mode using the latest drivers. I don't think I noticed that before. It's definitely better in G-Sync than No-Vsyc and Vsync modes, but I do see some stuttering and I can create tearing by rotating the scene around quickly.
EDIT2: ok this is weird. Sometimes when I start the demo in gsync, turn it off, then back on again it's fine. That doesn't seem to work every time, but sometimes.Last edited: Oct 22, 2017Vasudev likes this. -
The worst was Rise of the Tomb Raider. However I think the flickering bug is related to dx12+game engine itself, because when I switched to dx11, there was no flickering.
With 382.90 however all games overall feel much smoother with GSync (+Vsync+tripple buffering) and there is less unexplained stuttering.
With the HP laptop which I currently have the 382.90 HP driver is overal better regarding performance and GSync with FCU than the latest Nvidia drivers. At least for me.
Which is strange since the latest drivers should be the ones to be FCU ready...
Btw 382.90 built date is August 1.
Did anyone tried this driver with a non HP laptop? If it installs, did you see difference compared to the latest Nvidia drivers ? (With FCU)Last edited: Oct 22, 2017Vasudev likes this.
