The NFO just gives you info on the version of the file. I second the laptopvideo2go recommendation; I use their drivers most of the time.

How do the 84.21's work? I remember trying one of the 84.xx but they either didn't work or were missing some features in the control panel. I'm on 83.50 right now without any major problems.

The only thing I've noticed with the laptopvideo2go drivers is that powermizer fails to notice if I unplug my laptop from ac power while the system is already on. It will still report as being "plugged in," unless I restart the computer on battery power.

hmmm. never happened to me. my powermizer is working ok. and the drivers work good too. there is even a new tab that allows you to overclock the GPU. but i wont be needing that because i dont plan to overclock.

Those temperatures are normal, so you don't have anything to worry about. Not sure about the overclocking, I don't own an Nvidia card.

thanks chaz.. i wont need overclocking anyways. im already very happy with the performance of my card! :)

i never overclocked my previous card (GeForce 6200) in my desktop.

i like reliability and stability and long lasting rather than a few extra frames

Try unplugging your laptop after already turning it on and looking at the powermizer tab to see if it reports the correct power source. It's a known problem at the laptopvideo2go forums.

My gpu temps stay around 50-70 during normal operation and under 60 during gaming. If it's really warm out they will be a few degrees higher but they are always stable during gaming.

Anyways, I noticed your 3dmark05 score is pretty high. Don't know why that would be, as that score is very comparable to the 256mb version of the 6600go. Maybe you just got lucky ;) I'm also curious about the 300mhz core clock frequency, as mine is reported to be 375mhz.

i unplugged my lappie while on and went to power mizer. it said "current power source: Battery" when i plug it back in it says "AC outlet".

maybe i was lucky. i tried 3dmark05 about 3 times and i always got the same score (give or take a few marks) maybe if i overclock my card i might get over 3000, but im not gonna do that.

I tried the drivers you are using and still, powermizer didn't work correctly.

So I try the newest drivers (which you said gave you blue screen), and not only did they install, but powermizer finally works correctly!!

Now if only I could do something about my scores, they're still about 300 lower than yours ;)

I was just joking, 300 points isn't going to make much of a noticible real world difference. Maybe 1 or 2 fps at the most. It is interesting though how computers with the same hardware can have such discrepancies.

Just curious, did you change your image settings to performance, or did you leave it on quality?

Oh, and the drivers seem good so far. They benchmark about the same in CS:S stress test (I don't have 3dmark05 installed). Maybe a tad bit lower but they are very stable.

and about the performance/quality...i left it on defult (everything was defult when i benched on 3dmark05)

Try diabling anti-virus. Also make sure you uninstall the previous drivers prior to installing. You could also try using drivercleanerpro (google it) to get rid of any conflicting drivers remaining on your system.

I got blue screen on one of the 84.x's as well. It could just be a software or driver conflict problem.
