I know that many of us here have a Go7xxx series card and still dont have solid drivers for our machines running Vista. Ive searched this forum and there seem to many people that are pretty disappointed with the performance of their 7900s and 7700s with Vista.

Ive gone through the Dell Drivers and other modified drivers with little luck finding one that worked close to my machine with Vista. For me, its very frustrating when playing games like FEAR and CSS at a much lower setting all because of an OS.

Does anyone know why Vista has taken so long to release official drivers of Vista for the 7xxx series? Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me?

    Thanks.

Hehe, DriverHeaven.com goes to the "Mega site of bible studies and information." :p Try driverheaven.net instead. ;)

The problem with mobile drivers is that Nvidia doesn't make them. It's the OEM's job to produce drivers for their laptops, and most tend to do a pretty lousy job of keeping the drivers updated. "If it ain't broke don't fix it" is the mantra, which is unfortunate considering that new drivers improve performance all the time, especially with Vista, where each driver update can dramatically improve performance as all the kinks are worked out in these first couple of months.

I'm sure you've seen them before, but if not, search around LaptopVideo2Go for some drivers that people have had good experiences with on the Go 7XXX, or try the TweaksRUs MobileForce drivers.

I feel you sorrow. I have the Asus G1 and it is a pain looking for the right driver. I hate that i have to play some games at a lower setting. If anyone find a good driver for the Asus G1 please do tell. I am currently using the default drivers that came with the system.

I am currently using nvidia version 7.15.11.6215 with the modded INF from laptopvideo2go for my 7-series gpu and found it mildly better performing than the stock drivers. There is an even newer one up, but I have not tried it yet.

currently for me there is no driver in the world that stops the continuous stuttering for my laptop in vista. I wish you the best of luck finding a driver.
