Ok, I've been running benchmarks galore on my 680m. Everything has been fine. Then I go to run Resident Evil 5 again to do some comparisons and it's running slow. I exit and check control panel but it won't let choose the GTX 680m to use with RE5 now. The pull down menu is grayed out.
One thing that I thought was odd was that I selected the "launcher.exe" for re5 and it switched to World of Warcraft (launcher.exe) and I think that screwed it up. I don't have WoW installed on my laptop, never have. But even if I try to manually add launcher.exe for RE5 it sees it as the WoW launcher.exe.
It won't let me remove WoW from my list either.
Is there a way to manually remove a game from the optimus list in the registry or config file or something?

Nevermind. I had to rename re5dx9.exe to something else and add it manually to Optimus and set it to 680m, now it works. Just another reason why I hate "automatic" switchable graphics.

This happened to me also with the original witcher! Thanks for the fix!

This is why I hate it when software thinks it's smarter than me...

It won't take too much to be smarter than me. I think an old 286 exceeded that milestone.
nVidia Optimus won't let me choose nVidia GPU
