    so no one got this game?

    i have 2k11 and i like it, just wondering if they changed much to make it a worthwhile purchase even if you have 2k11 already?

    Graphics are a bit weird... will not say much more, but defo tats etc are a lot more detailed, lebron + co look ridiculously life like.

    Gameplay is a much more fluid experience, passes are thrown better, general movement around screens etc are better... players actually miss dunks sometimes.

    Jump shots for many players mimic real life REALLY well - again, lebron + wade look's real life like (damn Miami fans) but Kobe, Dirk, Ray Allen are done really well too.

    Gameplay... well, you need proper sliders (as always). A bit too many 3's, and your help defense AI is quite poor (perhaps resulting in the 3s). The game is new yet, and I am sure the epic modding community will have some great sliders in no time. But playing with a friend was challenging as always.

    The NBA greats mode is where it shines for me - play as legacy teams featuring Dr J, Wilt, the big O, Kareem... Kareem especially, has his legendary sky hook in the game, which was great.

    All done of course with the epic commentary as always of 2k - and they've added a 3rd person - Steve Kerr - to the commentary team. Occasionally a bit out of place, but helps make the commentary TV like.

    If you're a fan who can appreciate detail, you'll love 2k12. Re-did the menus and everything too (FINALLY!!).

    Unfortunately on my laptop, I can only manage medium, get the real annoying stuttering on high, it'll take a patch to fix it probably.

    thanks for your comments.

    so far, from the videos ive seen and the comments above it seems like little has changed from last year.the legends mode seems cool and i am a fan of 80's and 60's bball but im not sure if thats enough to pay full price for a game...

    I tried 2k11 with a kbm, but didn't feel comfortable. Is this best with a gamepad?

    If you're playing 2k11/12 on the PC, you should try using some graphics mods. It'll look a whole lot better than both games normally.

    You can get better shadows, faces, higher res textures, better courts, jerseys, shoes, cheerleaders, etc.

    Oh yeah, I forgot to say that you can get called for travelling for shuffling if you post up... and if you hit a buzzer beater, sometimes refs will go and review it (i.e. did you get the shot off in time).

    Been playing it and it is hard to win for me :) Glad to see some LA fans here! I am playing on a xbox360 controller and does anyone know how to switch players when you inbound the ball or how about play calling?

    I only played 2k11 on my friend ps3 so I havent had much time with the series, beside the Dreamcast days, but this game I have had more time with.

    very nice. does the mod do this for all the players or do you have to apply the skins for each individual player.
    iirc, in 2k11 you could get better looking players but you had to mod for each player, and there were only a limited amount of modded players so you get like one good looking player on court amids the normal ones.

    first thing you should do is check your cpu and gpu temps with a program like hw monitor.
    if nba 2k11 is any indication, these games really max a system. in fact, 2k11 was one of the first games to utilize multicores. so be sure to check your cpu temps also.

    Its a glitch with the game... I've had the problem since 2k10, 2k9 was the last that worked out of the box 100%. It only happened to me with player on highest (it used to be ultra) - essentially the setting allowing cloth movement. It is largely a cpu issue, not really related to gfx card. Put player detail to med and it will probably go away.

    i think i read somewhere its only an issue on dual core cpu's. never had problems with my quads.
    id check temps though just to be sure...

    I have an i7 on my laptop, get awesome framerates but the annoying stuttering on high...

    perhaps you could try altering the config file? Messing around with some of the settings there? Helped some people.

    Also, this is like the one game I need to use throttle stop for..perhaps you are throttling too!

    Has anyone tried this on an M11X r2 or a comparatively specced machine?
    I'm not sure if maybe I don't have the settings right but this game is unplayable for me even with the cpu overclocked and throttlestopped. I can play most other games on med-high i.e. sc2, bioshock 1&2, homefront, but NBA2K12 is a slow crawl even on low. :confused:

    I guess I can chime in here as I did last year and fix performance problems.
    The setup in my signature is not OC'ed and I get around 52 FPS with this config file.
    More specifically 50 while inbounding, 47 taking the ball cross court, 54 passing cross court, 60 during dribble penetration in a half court set.
    -I play with the 2K camera set to 10 and 10 with zoom on.
    -for some odd reason my frame rate gets into the single digits for a second during the flashy intro when the 2k logo fills the screen

    VIDEOSETTING_ADAPTERINDEX = 0
    VIDEOSETTING_WIDTH = 1920
    VIDEOSETTING_HEIGHT = 1080
    VIDEOSETTING_COLORDEPTH = 32
    VIDEOSETTING_VSYNC = 0
    VIDEOSETTING_REFRESHRATE = 60
    VIDEOSETTING_WINDOWMODE = 0
    VIDEOSETTING_MSAA = 2
    VIDEOSETTING_MSAAQUALITY = 0
    VIDEOSETTING_MAXTEXTURESIZE = 4096
    VIDEOSETTING_DEPTHOFFIELD = 1
    VIDEOSETTING_FLOORREFLECTION = 3
    VIDEOSETTING_PLAYERLOD = 0
    VIDEOSETTING_STADIUMLOD = 1
    VIDEOSETTING_CROWDDETAIL = 2
    VIDEOSETTING_SHADERDETAIL = 1
    VIDEOSETTING_SIDELINECHARACTER = 0
    VIDEOSETTING_ANISOTROPICQUALITY = 4
    VIDEOSETTING_PARTICLEFFECT = 2
    VIDEOSETTING_FORCE_HDR_ON_INTEL_GPU = 0
    MAIN_LOGICAL_THREAD = 2
    GPU_LOGICAL_THREAD = 1
    STALL_CPU_ON_END_FRAME = 0
    LIMIT_FLIP_QUEUE_LENGTH = 2
    LIMIT_FLIP_QUEUE_LENGTH_SLEEP = 0
    STICKYKEY = 482
    TOGGLEKEY = 34
    FILTERKEY = 98
    ACCESSIBILITYKEY_SAVED = 0
    LANGUAGE = -482460772
    WINDOW_X = 0
    WINDOW_Y = 0
    CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 1
    CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = 2
    CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = -1
    CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = -1

    Like every year change CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD to the amount of CPU cores you have, GPU_LOGICAL_THREAD to amount of GPU's, and MAIN_LOGICAL_THREAD to CPU threads.

    If you are still playing very smoothly after this I recommend you bump up VIDEOSETTING_MSAA and VIDEOSETTING_MSAAQUALITY as needed, with of course the resolution.

    I actually don't have stuttering but I use D3Doverrider ( http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4F41ORNN) for tearing. As you can see the game is maxxed out besides for AA.

    -I have all the latest mods excluding the ENB mods.

    My system is equivalent to a i5 520m and a Nvidia GT 330m. Basically anybody with a decent CPU who also gets 6000+ in 3dmark06 should be able to play with at least these settings. The desktop equivalence to my setup is a Intel i3-530 and Nvidia GT 220.

    -In most cases don't have physx enabled. (turning on PhysX/Havok might help people having problems if they have a weak CPU and solid GPU.)
    -I think fast hard drives help in this game.
    -Its a straight up port so anybody with comparable hardware to a XBox is fine.
    -With the photomod I had to bump the res down to 1440x900 to get smooth gameplay.
    -YOU NEED A GAMEPAD
    -Turn off antivirus, in my case bitdefender goes into automatic game mode.

    Game is amazing, make NBA 2k11 and all the other past games like . I don't have time to say why it is Amazing, but the flow of the game, and how realistic everything is, make it the best B-ball game ever made.

    Oh yeah, Kobe look like Kobe :eek:
