    I'm looking at a dell laptop with a core 2 duo 2.0ghz and an 8600M GT (256). my desktop has a 7600GS and a athlon64 x2 2.4ghz

I was just wondering, on my desktop CS:S works flawlessy at near highest settings, but when I play Lost planet, I need to put everything on lowest (resolution 640x320 or something) for me to get an fps higher than 40? Would that happen on the 8600M laptop?

    thanks

The 8600M will definitely beat the 7600GS.
Don't expect it to run @ high settigs though :)

If Rainbow Six Vegas is a console port, then it probably wont run max with great framerates, but it is going to run better than that 7600 you've got.

I have similar components and CS:S runs at max settings with great framerates.

I played the LOST DX10 demo and it actually performed pretty well. It runs at OK FPS (like 15-20FPS) with settings pretty much maxed. I don't consider it that great a game. If you want to play it get an Xbox360, then it'll play great! :D

The laptop will definately play games better than your desktop.

Umm Hmm, that's Lost Coast, based off of HL2 - a wonderfully optimized game. He's talking about Lost Planet - a console port, a piss poor one at that.
