im kinda new here and im thinking of staying for a long time. this community seems huge :)

anyway, is it possible to play on multiplayer via wireless lan? if yes, how? im new to wireless networking but im pretty familiar with computers, so no problem if you mention some deep computer terms and stuff..

    Welcome to NBR :)

I'm connected to the internet only wirelessly, and it works perfectly fine for surfing the internet and playing games. With a good router and wireless card, there isn't too much of a noticeable difference from a wireless connection to a standard wired connection with typical internet connection speeds.

Anyways, if you're interested in setting up a wireless network, rest assured that you won't notice (or hardly notice) a change in internet speeds and gaming pings.

I think he means he wants to play against other people in the house like a local lan party.

If not then yeah it has no issues with internet play over wireless lan, WLAN speeds usually exceed your own internet connection speed. Connect to the internet fire up the game I have both of them for pc.

I see. I got hung up on the fact that he made a distinction between wireless and wired

I am not 100% sure, we will see in a moment. But its the only reason I can think of that anyone would ask this question unless they thought wireless was that bad. The Console versions of the game didnt network at all.

The more i read his post the more i think im wrong but wired versus wireless you connect the same unless you have firewall issues.

sorry. my question was too broad..
to be more specific, this is what i "want" to happen :) :

play multiplayer via wireless lan with only two wifi equipped notebooks without the need for any other accessories.

i thought it would be cool [just like a PSP ^^ ]coz me and my friends are planning to go on a trip somewhere rural. we can only bring a limited amount of stuff, and surely, a console isnt one of them.. ^^
