So i just bought today the "Wolfking" gamepad bundled with Counter Strike Source from Circuit City. i don't like the gamepad and i want to return it but i installed CSS and its now activated with my account on steam.
my question is; Can i inactivate CSS on my steam account? and can i return it? WITHOUT them saying "Sorry, but its bundled and you can't return it".
i still have 30 day money back gaurantee and i know the policy on returning softwares or games for that matter.
i dont want to try and ask Circuit City because if they say no then im stuck with it. I rather find out here first before doing anything........any help would be appreciated, thanks

There is no way to get a return a registered game.
-
mm lie to them and tell them you havent installed it yet
i seriously doubt their going to check, by the time the person that buys it next figures it out you'll be long gone with your refund, and in any case steam will probably reactivate it for them anyway so no harm done

Circuit City will not take returns on open games. You can only exchange it out for the same thing. They have this policy because of people who follow the above advice.
aka: NO. -
i agree that i can lie to them.....and that policy on no return on software works with Circuitcity, best buy, compusa and so on.......but ive checked steam's website, you can actually reset a cd key.......to another account , just as long as you have the receipt of purchase. so lets say i return it, they might sell it to another guy and then that person wont have a problem installing it except that he has to go through the horrible process of sending the cd-key and proof of purchase to steam for them to reactivate it.
so u think i shud do it "return the product" and hopefully they might accept it? or just keep it at an expensive paper weight. -
It's explicitly stated in the return policy that Circuit City doesn't accept returns on open software. Once the CSR is done laughing at you, she'll ask if you want to exchange it out.

and steam may disable your account, cause they like doing that...

i think ill keep it, and try to get used to it i guess.
thanks guys for all the help. -
Keep the game and sell the "useless" gamepad on ebay or cragslist. At least get some of your money back.
