i have a x1400 installed in my laptop. my 3d01 mark scores are 7000 and 03 scores are 2800 i look and there supposed to be around 15000 and 7000.
im running on a gateway m285e core 2 duo 1.83 ghz. 2048 mb ram. on vista. i overclocked my card to see if it helped and it only raised it a bit. can any1 tell me why my scores are so low? and if so how do i fix it?

Where are you pulling those "supposed" numbers from? They seem wayyy to high.
My 8400gs scores 5000 in 3DMark03 and it is quite a bit more powerful than your x1400. So how do you expect a weaker card to score 7k? -
wow LOL - interesting
-
i pulled them from several places but if there not supposed to run that good than thats a relief. but if those arnt right what are my correct benchmark scores supposed to be? and is there a difference between a x1400 and x1400 mobility or are they the same thing?
-
well yes they are different..ones for desktops and ones for laptops, the desktop one is probably better and can score that high.

heres the place where i got the scores from
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html
it sayd i should have 14000 on the 01 and a 4900 on the 03. according to this my card it running at half performance it should be?????? -
You don't mention how much dedicated and shared video memory is apointed to your X1400. If it has 256mb dedicated it should perform a lot better (around 1000 points in 3DMark06), but i doubt if thats the case here. The amount of memory affects the performance of the card a lot.
Usually the mobile versions of graphic cards perform a little less to save battery use and prevent heat produce. -
How do i check how much memory is dedicated to it and can i change it to give more?
-
For example, cards score higher in 05 than 06. -
How do i check how much memory is dedicated to it and can i change it to give more

how do i change the amount of shared memory?
-
through bios. reboot your computer and right after it shows the initial screen press f2(i think) and it will take you into bios settings.
-
well i just overclocked it as much as possible without like breaking it and scored 3303 from 2790. im about to go to bios and change shared memory. wish me luck that i dont mess something up really bad.

You can check it under system information (just type 'system info' in the search bar in the start menu to find it). Open up the third tab from the top (i don't know whats it called in english, i have a dutch OS) and then open up the display or monitor tab. I'm afraid that you can't upgrade or add more memory.

You can manually set the shared memory, but it won't help performance, and may even hurt it.
BTW, my 8600m GT scores 27 billion in 3DMark69BC. -
