need help: Gears of War Pc

So i reinstalled my copy of gears of war and every thing works fine until the very first scene after about 3 seconds it crashes. I'v tried reinstalling it but no luck.

Thought you guys will know what to do.

The first time i installed it was on vista and it worked fine. Now i have Win 7 32bit running.

Did you update your graphics card drivers to the latest one? If you have, is it from your vendor? If it is, then try one from Laptopvideo2go.com, their drivers are customized for laptops.

Anyways... good luck, I've never had any problems with that game on my XP SP3 machine...

 

Did you changed your system date back to december 2007?

 

What the heck? Why would he have to do that to play Gears of War? Or is this a known bug with Gears of War on Win7?

its true for some reason epic packaged the game with a file that has an expiration date which the latest patch fixes. updating gfwl also fixes alot of the problems with start up. these though wont let you even start the game so i dont think this is the problem.

do you get an error message or anything similar when it crashes?

thanks TomTom i used that patch and now i dont have to change my date,
also updated my gfwl thanks ryokowashu for the suggestion

I got it working, some how the game only works if launched from the .exe in Games folder.

BTW the GAME is Great fun isn't it ... wonder if they'll ever release GOW2 for PC ..

 

They should, its not that GOW2 sells that good on Xbox 360 anymore. xD

 

Yeah it´s great fun and looks much better than the 360 version. However they won´t release Gears of War 2 for PC the game is too old now. Gears of War PC was released a year after the 360 version.

anyway, i wouldn't recommend using drivers from laptopvideo2go.com, the drivers straight from nvidia are built for mobile devices these days.

Yes sadly I don´t they will ever release Gears of War 2 for the PC, well that´s why one owns both a Xbox 360 and a PS3 This way I don´t have to wait for specific games to hit the PC. Just look at Gears of War 3 using the new Unreal 3 engine, it looks pure amazing and I am glad I own a 360 for that purpose.

For instance Red Dead Redemption is another one of them that they now say won´t be released of the PC either. Well I really hope RDR gets released since the game is plain awesome

Gears of war 1 was better that the second IMO. I would like to see another halo come to pc than gears of war.

 

Yeah Halo 3 would be a nice treat to PC gamers.

 

Yes it will, we are talking Rockstar for RDR not Epic (the PC haters). Rockstar is following a similar media pattern as they did for GTA 4. I suspect we'll see RDR on PC by Xmas or early 2011.
