hey guys im pretty new to laptop gaming and i have a question. Can the video card and processor on a dell inspiron 1720 be swaped out for something else? When i bought mine it didnt say anything about being integrated so i was jus wondering if you guys can enlighten me and let me kno if i can upgrade the parts on my 1720![]()

The video card cannot. Unlike desktops, where there are standard connections (usually PCI-Express or AGP today), with laptops each vendor has its own proprietary connection. So unless Dell offers an upgrade (which is highly unlikely), you're stuck with what you've got. If Dell would, you could upgrade it, but the chances of that are less than 1%.
The processor can be upgraded (on most laptops, including Dell - there are a few exceptions). You could upgrade to any Santa Rosa processor, including the new Penryn ones (but not including the Montevina ones that come out in May). -

The Inspiron 1720 comes with two graphic options, 8600M GT 256MB, or the 8400M GS 128 MB. You currently have the best video option in your computer. Finally, the graphic on this computer uses a video card not onboard video.
