the new prince of persia (sands of time and warrior within) games look awesome, and have gotten some good reviews. I haven't tried them yet though since I'm waiting for my new comp. There's also halo out for the pc if you haven't played that yet. And the No one Lives Forever fps games are fun with a mixture of comedy, stealth, and shooting stuff.

I'm replaying the Warcraft 3 RoC and FT campaigns, looking to get FarCry, NFSU, Max Payne 2, Homeworld 2, Unreal 2
I'm looking for a single player RGP to kill the time, I want something like FF7, but I haven't found anything out there yet. FFX comes close, but doens't quite have the dept and feel of 7
Also looking for some good RTS'
I only get to game about an hour or so everyday because of work.
anyone got some suggestions? -
how good is farcry? i heard it is good...same thing with mp 2 i m playing max payne 1 even tho is old. unreal 2...how bout unreal torunament?...i dont really like prince of persia games even tho they seem cool
-
FarCry is probably the third best FPS i've ever play (next to Half Life and Halo)
Unreal 2 sucked, but I gotta play it just cause it's unreal. I haven't played unreal tournament since the original.
prince of persia 1 is REALLY good on the playstation, I heard the PC version sucks. Prince of Persia 2 sucked imo -
If you like racing games, you should check out Juiced. I've played that quite a bit with my brother (Hellmanns) and it can be quite fun. It's also fun playing online.
There's another racing game out there that looked pretty fun. I think it was called GTR FIA. That was an acronym for something, but I can't remember. It looked like it'd be a fun simulation racer.
I don't do a huge amount of gaming (I hope to, though, once I upgrade my RAM) so I don't have a lot of suggestions, but Juiced is fun, NFSU2 is good, and GTR FIA looks promising.
I'm playing a few games (Juiced, Diablo II, Half Life 2, NFSU2, and Age of Empires) on my Dell Inspiron 9200. It's got the ATI MR9700 with 128MB of dedicated video memory. I've only got 512 MB of RAM right now, so games like HL2 and NFSU2 don't run quite as smooth. I've had no problems with Juiced, though. I can play that at 1440x900 with high settings and it's very smooth.
I'm using the Omega Drivers instead of ATI's. -
Vice City San Andreas

is nfsu2 that graphically demanding
-
i've played prince of persia 1 and 2 on my gamecube....and those games were amaazing....unlike any of the games that i've ever played b4

My friends and I have compiled a list of the greatest games in each area. All of these games rock and are a good bet to go with.
Shooters (not counting HL 2 and Doom 3 because just about everyone owns them already, or should)
Far Cry, Max Payne 1 & 2, Call of Duty and CoD United Offensive, Ghost Recon, any Grand Theft Auto (except GTA 1 & 2), Splinter Cell, for online play any Battlefield Games and Unreal Tournaments, old games like Medal of Honor and No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 are also great
RTS
Command and Conquer: Generals, Act of War, Empire Earth I & II, Rise of Nations, Warcraft 3, old games like any Warcraft and Starcraft
Racing
NFSU 1 & 2, NASCAR Racing: 2003 Season, GTR
Flying
Any IL-2 Sturmovik games, Pacific Fighters, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2003 & 2005, Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 2 & 3, Falcon 4.0: Allied Forces
This is the list that we have come up with. Feel free to comment on it and add to it. I just received my i9300 yesterday, so I am working on loading my games onto it and would not mind any other suggestions. -
In my opinion, and I know I may get shunned for this, farcry is a better game than both doom 3 and HL2. Im speaking strictly about how the game plays, how fun it is and its replay value. I never finished D3 cause it was boring, I play HL2 through once, tried to play through it again and it was boring but Ive played through farcry 4 times and its still fun. As far as rts go both ground control 2 and dawn of war are really good games. Dawn of war is more oriented towards online play though.
-
ground control is a great strag game, though a lot of things changed in 2 that I wasn't too fond of. -
The graphics are nice at the settings I'm using, but they're not as demanding as a lot of games out there. -
Best RPG of the year is Guild Wars (so far) but its more MMO but not like any other MMO nothing like world of warcraft, you dont pay subscription for one
. but its online all the time and has a massive single player game and PVP is equaly adictive.
however a 'real' RPG to look out for near christmas is The Eldar Scrolls Oblivion this will rock and be the best RPG made so far by anybody -
I wasn't impressed with Guild Wars. I enjoyed it for a while, but it felt too repetetive. I couldn't get anyone to play with me. After I reformatted, I never bothered to reinstall it.
I should, though, since it cost so much money. -
I am playing UT2004, it's not much of a single player game, but I am enjoying the different game modes. But in team style games it gets frustrating that you cannot just nudge your partener and work out a plan
.
makken, why did you find Unreal 2 bad??? Personally I never liked Unreal because the environment was to glommy (I have motion sickness too), but I thought from looking at screenshots that the 2 looked way better!

As for GC2 I agree, what I liked about the first one was that you had to do your best with what you had, you couldnt just make more units. Thats what set it appart. -
GTAs, Mafia, Oblivion is coming up...single player RPG...THE BEST...but for notebook try getin Morrowind very very good srpg, Underground 2 is cool, if u like rts...strategy games...generals is sick, Total War: Rome is good, and if u like star wars then Republican Commando which is a shooting game is preaty cool....although is has a few glitches, but still worth the star wars thing...and then Knights of the old Republic II: Sith Wars...AWSOME srpg game that is really really good and deasnt want that much graf...so would be perfect for the M40, which i am also about to buy
-
Haven't read all the replies, so pardon me if I repeat. (BTW, NFS U2 is not very stressing, it runs fine on a desktop ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, and decently on a notebook x300 w/128 meg dedicated.)
Here's my thoughts on First Person Shooters:
HL2 and CS:Source, already mentioned.
Doom3, sweet graphics.
FarCry, not that great, decent graphics (except char models), vehicle behavior and voice acting stinks.
Star Wars Republic Commando, very good solid graphics, fun deathmatch multiplayer, short single player campaign but it's really good, and I don't even like Star Wars. Highly Recommended!
Unreal Tournament 2004, probably already mentioned, it's a good mindless killing game, even fun against bots.
Call of Duty, wow, most immersive WWII game out there, and best. Absolutely get this and the expansion. -
-
Guild Wars... the only game i play now, no monthly fee, good graphics (i thought the screenshots were wallpapers), a huge world to explor, lota people to play with and dont have to click for months to be good... adictive PvP... and no lag even on a 56k, so i can play it anywere
-
yup... i beat it on my gamecube...wit great graphics at the time it came out...and then i played it on my new 9300 wit the nvidia 6800 Geforce Go graphics card...and i was amazed at the performance differance...the laptop graphics card was way better...even tho i no it's 1 of the best around...and my gamecube has an ATi graphics card as well...but i also thought it was one of the best games ever...i also thought that Prince of Persia: Warrior Within was also 1 of the best games ever...even better than the Sands of Time
need some games...
