I seem to be having trouble playing this game on vista with my laptop. I can get into the create a character part and then when i'm done with that it will load fine and then when i get to the part thats supposed to be the actual game i can hear sound but the screen is blank. anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I was told that the nvidia geforce 6150 would play this game well. is there anything i can do? or is it vista?

hey odin. thanks for the tip but it didn't work. As soon as i get into the part where i should start playing the game all i get is a blank screen. my guess is that it is a vista issue. anyone know of any patches or fixes i can download that will correct thsi problem? thanks

Try running the game in XP Compatibility mode, I suppose.

Just right click on the .exe file (It's probably nwn.exe or something like that) and choose properties, then go to the Compatibilty tab and make it look like this:

okay. i've done that..but i will try a few more options. I have been able to get the little pointer things from the game on the screen, as well as the music and the character's voice but thats it.

And you've deleted the "temp" file or folder in the Neverwinter Nights folder?

Edit: Also, you've updated your video drivers, right?

while i'm on the subject of games and stuff when i go to windows game advisor i get this message Unfortunately we were unable to identify some hardware components of your system, and therefore it is not possible to provide accurate performance analysis.

We are constantly updating our hardware component database, and this issue should be resolved soon.

    what does it mean?

I just got neverwinter nights to work totally fine on the desktop. I just installed it and didn't have to do anything else. It works great!.

My hubby's laptop that was having problems with it should have played it fine.
    It has a 1.7 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile processor TK-53
    1024MB of RAM
    Vista Ultimate
    120 gig hard drive
    nvidia geforce go 6100/61450 graphics?

what could have been the problem seeing how i have vista basic, and i got it to work fine.
