where's the search function? why is there a 30 second countdown sometimes? i spend more time in countdown than in-game. why can't i leave a room once countdown has started without logging out? why is the "join" button sometimes labeled "text" when you first load the custom games page? why does your custom map selection get deselected if you select right after loading the custom games page? why do i sometimes join a room, and it doesnt load, but the game thinks that i joined it, so i can't join any other game without logging out? why can i sometimes not log in without restarting the game? why isn't there a better shortcut for leaving a game (eg. alt+qq) instead of f10+q? where's the chat rooms? why are we locked from different region's servers? what if i was in korea and couldn't read korean so i wanted to play on US west? i know they want as little lag as possible, but i'm on the west coast and i can play wc3 on the european servers on the other side of the world with ~100ms ping
i thought wc3's bnet page sucked, but they somehow found a way to make it worse
who designed it? out of all the designers and product testers, nobody noticed this crap?

Well, theres not much to say in response, but honestly your 100% correct. You'd figure that Blizzard would have polished their online system, by all means they had YEARS to do it.
This is from playing on my buddys PC... Now im contemplating wether or not I wanna buy SC2 for my own use. -

To be honest I really like the new system. It's cleaner and I can always find the map I'm looking for, instead of the entire system being spammed by DOTA DOTA. The 30 seconds is a bit much, but they're gonna patch it. Same with chatrooms. I never had any of the problems you had with your custom maps, so I can't comment on that. Not being able to leave is something that I like. I remember all the times when I was playing, some POS would leave during the countdown and the host didn't cancel fast enough. I'm sure it'll be patched later on that if someone leaves the countdown would stop, but for now, I like how they're locking you into the game.

Well its Activision, do you really expect them to care about the consumer?
-

I played Diablo 1 & 2 up to WoW. LOL when did they stop sucking?
-
When it starting making you reveal your personal information thats when.
-
how that make it --stop-- sucking? I like the games but sometimes dealing with battle.net was just not worth it.
thankfully i grew out of their games although i may get sentimental with diablo 3. -
Yeah, theres a whole storm brewing on the sc2 forums about this. Chat channels are coming in a later patch which is confirmed, and maybe Psuedo-Lan. Don't know about anything else though, but there is a 80 page thread on people who want name changes and a load of threads with the exact same complaints you have.
I don't get why people say "its a brand new system, cant expect it to be perfect"...when Blizzard had like 4 years making this game and they didn't implement basic features like chat channels or name changes...really. -
Completely open systems like the old bnets require MODERATION or else people we devolve into 4chan kids who have no respect for anyone. Chat rooms are even more useless. Each game lobby has a chat. You can create a party, and even invite people to games. So whats the need.
And really complaining because you have to goto the menu to quit a game? lol really? -
don't see a problem with battle.net at all. It's really well integrated into SC2 IMO. beats the old b.net although chat channels are missed, I'm glad to know they'll be coming back.
-
Meh, I like the new.
-
yeah this new bnet is terrible. I thought it would be an improvement over frozen throne but it seems like a huge downgrade. maybe once they implement chat channels and get rid of the horrid popularity system it will be better.
on another note, is there no observing in sc2? i loved to join obs games in frozen throne. i would usually join them while i was eating and they were quite entertaining. also i would learn a lot. -
i say any massive scale online game should have an observe mode. to see to armies bieng strategically placed in Total war games, or to see how a person plays a certain race or faction in various games. its a good point bucknasty87
