didnt know where to post. posted in the sager & clevo forum, but no responses yet.
my original specs are:
Clevo D900C
Intel® Conroe Processor: Intel® E6600 Conroe
Processor 2.4GHz/4MB/1066FSB
NVidia GeForce GO 7950GTX 512MB DDR3
2GB DDR2-5300 (1 x 2GB)
i bought an FX 3700M off ebay to replace the malfunctioning 7950 i had in my laptop. i received it yesterday, but the laptop wont boot up after i put in the new GPU. the screen stays black and just keeps beeping (single beeps). i mounted and re-mounted it several times with no better luck.
i re-installed windows xp before ordering the new card to check if that was the problem, so the hard drives are clean. i wanted to flash new BIOS, but with the laptop randomly shutting down, it would have been too risky.
sorry about the long wall of text. its just that i need a quick answer, because if this card is really DOA, then i will need to contact the seller ASAP if i hope to replace the card/receive a refund.

Will it boot up alright if you put the old card back in?

Might be DOA.
How bad is the current GPU ( 7950GTX)?
Did you try baking it?

I'm thinking maybe bake the old card just to make it stable enough to let you update the BIOS.
But your notebook might just not support the card.
I bought an FX 3700m from the same seller, luckily it worked in my notebook.
