    new Nvidia 197.16 graphics card for an Acer Aspire

    I have an Acer Aspire 6930 with a Nvidia graphics card, I want to upgrade my drivers to the new version on Nvdia.com but according to the Acer website I should only use the (outdated) drivers from their ACER website. Does anyone have suggestions what I can do ? I currently have the 195.62 drivers installed, but wondering if I could safely download the new 197.16 graphics drivers???

    You can always try and just roll back if it does not work. I find Nvidia has must better driver support than ATI. Seems like for nvidia going straight from their site you never have problems....but with ATI its best IMO to go from your notebook company site.

    The 195.62 were Nvidia direct releases in the first place, so you're already disregarding Acer's advice.

    lol beat ya! got 3000 before u :) and anyways , if u were using 195.62 , u don't really need to update.. 195.62 is quite new and good :)
